SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

Trying to decide if I can ditch a St. Patty's Day party and make it to The Abbey to watch with other SNC fans. Who was there today and who plans on being there tomorrow?

There was a decent crowd at The Abbey including a handful of former players. SNC alumni group had 2 projection screens upstairs with Derozier and Spiering's commentary playing through a couple of big speakers. That place should be a mad house today but at least it is spring break so the crowd won't be quite as bad.

I think I will be there. Gary Radke might come, too

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

Just hanging at our house, may have a few people over; hooked the laptop to 52" big screen and also streamed derozier through a second laptop; timing was off a bit, but would still listen to him over the NCAA guys!
Amazing game yesterday - can't wait until tonight!

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

I'd thought about streaming in the SNC broadcast with the video but thought the timing might be off. It's logistically challenging for those guys to know much about the teams coming in but I thought they did a pretty decent job.

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

To paraphrase Chase Utley, "national champions, national ******* champions." Who would have thought this? Unreal. Utterly unreal.

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

Unbelievable. These guys did more than I ever envisioned. Each team has its own dynamic, but I really expect them to be better the next two years. Scary thought. Just amazing.

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

Congrats to all of you for a well run program and continued success! Sec 16 was a fun section to be in this weekend. See you next year!

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

Congrats to the entire SNC hockey family! Coach Coghlin, his staff, and the players that have come before have entrenched a culture that produces this sort of unexpected result. I just want to recognize the people behind the scenes that mean so much to the success of the program: AJ, Tommy, Maz, Chase, Doc Metzler, and Rusty. These guys along with coach Coghlin are the heart and soul of GKP. Their tireless dedication for the love of the kids and the Green Knight program should not go unoticed. There is a reason for a run like they had...they get the right kids...and they can coach them!

Congrats to the team and their families at this time of great pride and satisfaction.

Is there any word as to when their flight returns to Green Bay? I am guessing there might be a little get together at the Abbey.

Still No Championships no longer.

School of National Championships might be more appropriate now.

Congrats SNC. Enjoy it. See you at the Frozen next year. You will never see a more motivated Norwich team in 2012-13. :)

Re: SNC 2011-12 Regular Season Thread

I think the question that needs to be asked is will the NCAA ban SNC? With 3 championships in 5 years will the NCAA take its puck and go home? If you can't beat em move on right?

...You've earned the right to be proud - even snarky...just please don't cross the line to cocky...:D

It was pretty funny to be winding down the informal Laker gathering last night at WiseGuys, look up to see Johan bounding down the stairs with a certain trophy - followed by his teammates, family and fans... A nice young man, solid representative of his school, his team and his sport - could not have been nicer, as were the rest of the boys and their families that I spoke to. Champions who deserve congratulations and good wishes.

As I mingled in the background and listened to young and old marvel at their good fortune and relive their moments from the past season and talk about the future (only THREE seniors...? Really???), it didn't sound much different from the assorted post championship gatherings in a variety of sports I have been to over the years - teams built on hard work, respect for the game and the opponent, appreciative of the opportunity and proud of their success.

I think that description fits each of the teams that made it to Lake Placid this year...and that's a good thing for hockey and those of us who love this D3 brand.

Not being cocky. Just taking a shot at the WIAC :)

yikes. unimpressed with that. maybe when we match the accomplishments of UWSP (3 straight) or Middlebury (5 straight) that sort of thought could be entertained in your brain - but still shouldn't be said aloud.

I think you missed the obvious sarcasm of the post.
