Sounds like a good performance by Wenny and some even strength scoring got us the win against a Tech team that is doing pretty well over in the WCHA. How was the game?
Tim - ordered mine through Appleton and received them about 3 weeks ago. Hope to see you there. Steve
I ordered tickets to the Clarkson game in LP through the alumni association and asked to have them mailed to me. Haven't seen them yet. Has anyone else received them?
Tim.......did you just order tickets to the game or the reception too? It might be that we have to pick the tickets up at the reception but if we want to see the first game that's a problem. Here is the number on the Alumni events website to call to find out what the scoop is: 315.229.5526
Very tough road trip coming up closely followed by a Clarkson game. Tough stretch. In years past this trip was one tough game and one easier one. Now it is two difficult games for sure. A split would be wonderful but that might be too much to expect. Any kind of points on this trip will be good. Gate is clearly a much improved team and Cornell at Lynah is never easy.
Getting shut out sucks. But getting shut out by Cornell, at Lynah, without Flanagan, Hughes, and Wick, isn't such a disaster. I only heard the third period, but it sounded like SLU actually won it. (Clearly they were on the short end of the first two.) At the other end, holding Cornell to one goal on the road is a very good result, especially without Hughes.
Good losses don't get you anywhere in the standings, but that kind of effort will probably win a lot of games, particularly once they get healthy.
Hopefully we will keep Gate off the board like we did Cornell but get a little more offense going tonight.
Good win last night. Nothing like seeing SLU beat Clarkson in Lake Placid. Nice crowd for both schools, too.
I thought the game could have been very different after two periods, both ways. SLU set up a couple of gorgeous back-door passes right at the edge of the crease but missed both of them. At the same time, Weninger made 2 or 3 stellar saves. Clarkson moved the puck well in the SLU zone and got some excellent looks at the net.
St. Lawrence won the third period handily, though. Great to see Carey start to find some space and turn that shot loose a few times, and it was fun to see the freshmen in person for the first time. When Flanagan and Hughes get back, this group could be pretty darn good.
Finally, it was nice to see the TL guys, the hp1015 family, Steve, and Tayt, and catch up with an old friend at the reception. Hope to see everybody again in Burlington.
