I was a student at SLU during that era, as were a few others here, and there are several more who have been following SLU hockey for a lot longer than that.
Those were great teams. But to me what's even more amazing looking back is how strong the ECAC was. St. Lawrence did lay some epic beatings on UVM during that time period, but UVM was pretty darn good in its own right, and owned Harvard - arguably the best team in the league over that entire decade. There were excellent hockey teams finishing 4th and 5th in the ECAC back then.
You were a "student." First time I ever heard that. I couldn't resist busting on you.![]()

Heading out of the city momentarily to get a half day of skiing in (61 and sun, shouldn't be too bad) and then continue up to Albany. See everybody there tonight. I think afterwards my Dad and I are going to head down Pearl St. and find a sports bar to watch the Syracuse/UVM game if anybody else is interested.
Yeah the comeback win in 89 at the Garden down 2-1 to Harvard in the ECAC semi's and UVM scored with about 1 minute to go and then won it in overtime...only to have SLU wipe them out the next night..lol

I'd have to agree with Mike here. Unions first 2 goals came immediately after some strong play by the Saints. Even the empty netter at the end came after a flurry by SLU where Kinkaid stood tall. What impressed me the most was they never gave up and skated hard all game. In the end the Dutchmen got a few bounces and the Saints didn't.I don't think the team that played better necessarily won the game tonight.
