Define relevant. Do you mean relevant in the WCHA? Relevant in the NCAA tourney? Or simply relevant as in someone knows something about them?

The first one. For sure not the second one.

But that only takes you so far. Looking at the last decade, we're more "WCHA relevant" than the WCHA team that won the 2011 NCAA Title.

No. Tommy made an outrageous statement and I called him on it. He wanted me to disprove his outrageous statement and I told him he should prove it instead.

as I said break down my squad and tell me where they do and don't have talent. I will make it easy on you and you can do a head to head comparison of your team and the Huskies. I don't care what other posters or polls think. I want to know your break down of the teams. My guess is you can't do it because you don't know anything about the Huskies and you are a typical poster on this website that just spits out and repeats what everybody else says and actually knows nothing about hockey themselves. If I am wrong please show me your hockey wisdom and prove me wrong.

Since YOU are making the outrageous claim that differs from what all the other college hockey viewers think, how about if you break it down and show us all. Show us why the pre-season rankings were so far wrong when they had teams like BC, North Dakota, Notre Dame, etc. well ahead of you. Show us why the NFL scouts and GMs were wrong when they drafted the players form other teams more than yours. Show us why the Jan players did not populate the National teams like the players from the highly rated teams did.

you do realize players taht end up playing in NHL player might not be the best college player? You don't have to look farther than most of the Hobey baker winners to see that. The team with the most talent is not guarnateed to win the national title? A team needs to have the right mix, not the most NHL draft choices. With that said I don't know of any National Cahmpionship teams taht didn't have a lot of talent. The Huskies ahve enough talent to win the National title. Will they do that? At this point I don't see it and the team chemistry is not very good. The fact that most people on here are smart enough to understand that, but I am getting the feeling by your responses you are not. So as I said please break down both teams and tell how there is no way my squad can compete eith yours or the other schools you mention.

One reasonable measure (not the ultimate or final, but one measure) of talent is NHL draft picks. You don't have them. Why not? If it is because you only have a bunch of little water bugs who are quick, but too small to get drafted, then say that. I don't have to justify my position, you are, again, the one claiming that a 12-10 team has "as much talent as anyone in the country." I say that is a ridiculous claim and I ask you to justify it.

Do any of your goalies have numbers that compare to Wilcox at UMN? Any one of those? Then why the hell do you say you have as much talent as anyone in the country?

I never said you didn't have any talented players on your team, I certainly know you do. You don't have the depth of talent of the top teams.

SCSU has 5 NHL draft picks.

Jensen is one of the top D men in the WCHA. Prochno, Gravel and Prow are also very solid.

Hano, Leblanc, Dowd, Kossila, Morley, Benik, Thorson and Brodzinski are as good as anyone's Forwards.

You left out minutes of playing time, matchups, systems and injuries.

You are using hits as stat to somehow justify that Motzko can't coach?
Our PP is ranked 4th in the league in conference play and we have the #1 PK and #2 scoring defense in conference play too.
They are pressing and not playing well and they know it, but it's not like the season is over.

I'm using to justify that he cant motivate, give me a hakstol or a blasi kind of figure any day. even blais at UNO has his kids working every second of every shift. Show me some fire, don't just lean against to back board scratching your head, you don't have enough hair to to risk losing anymore. (too harsh?)

We aren't a team that is going to blast people, never have been, never will be, especially when clean open ice hits like Benik's are called major penalties now.
Motivation doesn't have to be yelling at players, or "showing fire" all the time and Motzko doesn't rip players on the bench, it's just not his style, but none of us are in the locker room, we have no idea what goes on in there.
I'm so sick of seeing that he can't motivate....how the hell do you know?

I don't,really I do not know. all I know is that we have seen talented class after talented class walk through our doors with nothing to show for it. we have a reputation as the "easiest"* team in college hockey to play(not beat) and the only constant throughout is Bob.

* This is what every one told me when I talked with ex WCHA players from the 2006-2010 era. many of the players said they feared the crowd more than the hits

I hope that with the "new" arena we can get more revenue and look for a higher quality coaching staff in the future. I know I am being hard on Bob he took the job for what little money we give him he has done a good job but he will never win another trophy...maybe the new "MN cup" thing...


p.s. that hit is a joke and I hope someone gets reprimanded for that call, not gonna happen I know but still. I am normally very much a safety first guy but my god that was bad.

Just because some of us don't evicerate Motzko and go flying off the handle like you do when we lose, does not mean you want more out of this program than we do.
What it means is we treat it like what it is, a game, not something that changes our lives.

I know you won't get this, but it does change our lives. We spend our free time watching these games. We spend our discretionary income on apparel, and tickets to games and travel to go see this team play on the road. All for the trade-off that when the team wins, we feel good. And when the team doesn't win, it feels like kind of a waste. And if you are a fan of the teams that aren't contenders every year, you bide your time until you are a contender. Waiting for that payoff when you will get to have fun watching your team win and celebrate and feel good about your team. A lot of our fans thought this year would be the payoff. It isn't happening and you kind of start to wonder: 'if not now, when?' You wonder: 'why isn't this team successful?'

You can act like you are above it all, and belittle people by saying they are irrational for having expectations, or saying they are flying off the handle for questioning if this coach is the one that can make them feel good about this team, but that is your problem not theirs.

Actually yes I have.
And yeah, I feel bummed out or happy, for a short while, but the overall aspects of my life don't change and I'm not still feeling that way 5 days later.
And sorry, but a lot of Husky fans seem to be front runners, they don't have much to say when the team is winning, but if they start losing, it's rant this and rant that and Motzko will never lead us anywhere, and why do I spend my time/money on this crap etc.
BTW, no one is forcing you to spend anything on it, it's your choice and if it really bothers you that much, don't do it.

But this fanbase tears each other apart over the actions of a hockey team more than any other group of people I've ever seen and it makes no sense to me.
I've seen so many people within our own fanbase who say they can't stand most of the rest of us becuse of how we treat each other on here or other boards.
We have this sense of thinking like the team or school owes us something because of the time and money we spend or how long we've been a fan, waiting for a title that quike frankly may never come to any of us in our lives.
It's a game, and we treat each other like garbage over it, and I don't understand why.

You take everything someone writes on a message board so literal. Just because someone says the way their favorite team plays effects their mood, doesn't mean they want to jump off a bridge if their team loses. most of us vent our frustration about the team on a message board or at a bar with friends. Trust me when I say none of the people I know let how the Huskies play effect their lives. The fact that you are implying over and over again that it does even though you don't even know any of the people is crazy. If people don't agree with you int he future take your own advice and let things go. If you do that things will get better on here. Before you say it, I will agree I need to do it as well........

LOL, So just admit you don't know anything about my squad. Can you name five players without looking at a roster? Have you even watched them play? My guess is no. You said basically I am a fool for saying my team has as much talent as anybody in NCAA hockey. If that is such a crazy statement explain why. Break down my team and explain where they lack talent is and how that statement is so far off.
