SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

You are not alone. There is a lot of people gettting very anxious for the addition. Last I heard there is still some fund raising that needs to be done to get things moving.

As far as the game worn jerseys, I can recall they auctioned off throw back jerseys as fund raiser a couple of times over the last 2-3 years. I believe the Center Ice Club (Huskies Booster Club) would have it posted on their website if something similar were to take place in the future.

Hope that helps.

Last I heard the addition starts after this season and will be done in two parts. The first after next season and the second the summer after that with everything all done by the start of the 2012-2013 season.

Game worn St. Cloud St. Univ 3rd jersey #20. Tie-up by Dangle size 54. The jersey features a sewn on crest, sewn on 2 color numbers, sewn on namebar PecksKamp. Jersey shows light wear. Winning bidder to pay $10 in shipping a little more international. Good luck and ask away.

So you are the one selling the jersey. I don't want to know what you did or how you did it to get that. :D

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Does anyone know where I can read up on the Huskies incoming freshman or possibly see some video of thier play?

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I'm a little slow, so forgive me if this has been mentioned before, but I just caught this from Kevin Allenspach:

"Finally, for those who haven't heard yet, this is my last day in the sports department for the Times. On Monday, I'll begin new duties as the editor of several of the times' community publishing efforts (including the Citizen Times, Rocori Times, Sauk Rapids-Rice Times) and I'll also be the Nighty City Editor four times a week. After 13 years covering the SCSU hockey program, I sought a change and this opportunity came available. It will hopefully fit a little better with my family, as my kids are just about reaching school age, and I'll be able to have weekends off. It was a tough decision, but a choice I'm comfortable with. I leave that 13-year body of work knowing I couldn't have tried any harder to be a source for SCSU hockey fans to find information about their program. I've always maintained that I work for the Times, but my real bosses are the readers. I'll leave it up to you to put my efforts in perspective. If I satisfied any of you, that's enough for me ..."

I have always liked Allenspachs coverage of the Huskies, his observations will be missed. Mick Hatten will now cover Husky Hockey.

Good luck Kevin in you future endeavors.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Roe's WAY too big of a name, to a lesser extent so's Mike Lee, and Marvin was done his sophomore year. Even though they normally like sophomores, I'm gonna go out on a limb and say Drew LeBlanc. If we're not going with a gut feeling Eddy's the smart bet as he wasn't overly touted coming in, wasn't drafted, and as INCH loves, is going into his second year.

Past the E's no Eddy.
I'm going to say Hanowski (likely replacement for Lasch's spot on Marvin's line) or Lauridsen.

Who'd they do last year? I wanna say it was Marvin his sophomore year but I don't remember last season's.

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

So....I have to ask....who is actually planning on going to the NoDak series in December in Grand Forks?

I am debating if I should go or not. Long story, short. Grandma dying, she is glad that I connected with her step-children and their family at my wedding and at the F5 this past year. Step-uncle is a member of the Sioux fan club, so yes, family rivalry is big.

As I type this I'm about 4 blocks from REA. I'll be there. I also plan on making the Duluth and Bemidji trips, and then some weekend at the NHC.

Talked to Mitch this weekend, I think we're doing NoDak, Bemidji and Omaha (reg. season looks better now than tournament) for road trips this year. And Jack's in the Cities, probably have him come along for a trip or two as well.

Perhaps the biggest question is: What will become of the "Kevin Allenspach Show featuring Bob Motzko" radio show every Monday night?" How will it carry on without the catalyst?! Who will ask the pointed questions?? (Oops, never mind--the unofficial assistant coaches ask those.) ;)

Kevin's many other duties, including the radio show gig and his ever-present blogging/tweeting will be missed. His dedication to getting the accurate story every time his name appeared on a hockey story made Allenspach one of the best--if not THE best--college hockey writer in the country. Husky Hockey Fans are very appreciative of his efforts, and grateful for the excellent coverage provided by him. This part of Husky Hockey will be sorely missed.

Each person who attends the games also gets to serve as a witness in a murder trial. Should be an interesting courtroom: thousands of drunk hicks, a bunch of Canadians, Marc Crawford's smirk, and a few St. Cloud fans. Kyle Radke will be one piece of evidence; the defendants will have a hell of a time trying to prove to the jury that he had some type of hockey function. Regardless of the verdict, Joe Finley will throw a lawnmower. Perhaps they should subpoena that missing goalie and see if he shows up and ends the mystery.
