SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

Looking at next year's schedule, I'll be going to the UW games in St. Cloud in February.

And I'll watch them win in Green Bay, too ;)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

If SCSU had a D1 basketball team and they made the NCAA tourney like NDSU did two years ago, I would follow the team a little. I wouldn't care like I do about SCSU hockey, but I would follow them. The fact is nobody care's about D2 sports. The only places that did were complete hillbilly places like North Dakota.:D

UND's D2 football team has just as many D1 NCs as SCSU's hockey team.;)

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

That is single-handedly the most retarded comment I have heard today. How does comparing UND football to UND hockey make any sense?

He probably thinks that St. John's should add their football national title banners to the NHC, that would make just about as much sense.

From Allenspach's Blog....

Sauk Rapids junior defenseman Ethan Prow has verbally committed to play hockey at St. Cloud State. He confirmed the decision during a phone call today and so did former Storm head coach Sheldon Weston. (There'll be more on this in Wednesday's Times.)

Prow, who is 5-foot-10, 165 pounds, will turn 18 on Nov. 17. He totaled 20 goals and 22 assists for 42 points last season. He was ninth in regular-season scoring in the Central Lakes Conference and is a two-time All-CLC pick. He collected hat tricks against River Lakes and St. Cloud Apollo.

He has been active in many hockey events before and after the prep season, including Model Camp. He has six assists in 23 games for Team North of the Minnesota Elite League.

Former? The hell?

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

The NDSU men's basketball team was very, very good that year they made the NCAA Tourney. Too bad they had to face Kansas in the first round. Being a huge Jayhawks fan, I jumped at the opportunity to go to the game at the Dome. The NDSU fans were there in full force and very loud, the team played very well and in all it was a great game/experience. They had a guard that year that was virtually unstoppable and they could have easily beaten all but a couple of teams in the tourney that year.

Now, I don't think all D2 sports are hard to watch but most are. Although, in my opinion, nothing is worse than watching women's basketball at any level. Hell, I even have a hard time watching my sister play on a D2 softball team but I go because she plays, of note, she hit a homer in her first collegiate at bat too.

Occasionally you can catch a good D2 game. The last SCSU basketball tourney game was good, the rest I felt like I was watching girls basketball, just too sloppy for me.

That's just my opinion.

I'm on a natural High. I took enough stuff in the 60's through the 90's that it keeps me going. Orange Sunshine, Purple Haze, blotter, window pane, owsley's, mocrodots, and assorted generics.

Did you actually read the comment? Arh-tard, I said "UND's football team has as many D1 NC's as SCSU's men's hockey team." What don't you effing get stoopid?!

Re: SCSU Huskies 2010 Off-Season Thread

I was talking more about NDSU.:D

Well at least you read my comment and you are correct about NDSU, they think having a D1 football team is cooler than liquid nitrogen. Unfortunately they don't realize that they will never win a conference championship or NC as a D1 team, in fact I think they were below .500 last year.

UND screwed up some great rivalries with SCSU and a few other schools by going D1 and for what? Money? Great, another couple 100k we can waste on indian cultural centers and on-campus pow-wows. I'm surprised the natives are even agree to the on-campus activities, UND is a dry campus.

Article on Ethan Prow committing and Garret Raboin signing with TPS Turku of the Finnish Elite League. And way to go Festler, helping recruit the kid by shacking up with his sister! :D

I think it's some sort of law that a player's sister has to be a jersey chaser.

And the Minnesota Wild have won as many Stanley Cups as the Florida Marlins. What's your point?
