SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

Right on the line of dirty as I don't think he meant to hit him in the head, I think he was trying to go for the shoulder and missed.
Absolutely a penalty, but I don't think the intent to injure was there.
And Chuck, attacking a guy's sig line because you don't like what's in there is petty.

Well he has a cross to crawl up on. Hope there's enough room with the UND fans up there. Hope you guys are a little less pathetic than they turned out to be last week.

Re: SCSU and UW: Badger hunting

If this is your opinion than clearly it makes no sense to continue talking about this with you because clearly you are delusional.

And your comments have been the picture of level-headedness?
Exactly what I was talking about in terms of over-reacting.
It's a shame he was hit in the head, it's a clear penalty, but are you actually going to try and tell me Marvin was out to hurt him?
What possible reason would Marvin have for doing it?

Define pathetic because I think your picture is under the definition.

I don't think Marvin said to himself, "YEAH!! I'm going to hurt him!" But he throws his shoulder up into the head, just like he did on the Genoway hit. You simply cannot mess around with hits to the head.

Well the guy saying that 75% of all rapes are made up by the woman and that 90% of the women who actually are raped are "asking for it" kind of takes the cake over my opinion on Aaron Marvin.

Hey Chuck. Word to the wise. Take a deep breathe and let them irrationally defend their goon. In the mean time your blood pressure will go down. :D

Well this is a dumb question.

Why would Marvin want to injure Geoffrion? (I'm not saying it was intentional, I'm being hypothetical here)

Blake leads the league in goals scored, is a Hobey Baker candidate and is Wisco's captain. Taking him out takes out a large part of the Badger team.

If we were looking to take out one of your players, we'd have used someone who sucks or never plays. Like Mitch Ryan or Jon Ammerman. Why have our best defensive forward go out and injure people?

So give him a five, and if the league wants, a game, that's fair IMO.
My argument here is the total classification of Marvin as a dirty "goon" player when in the case of both hits, I don't see intent to injure is going too far.

What would be fair is if Marvin got knocked in the head and was gone for the season. Life isn't fair though.

I'd be happy with a game suspension.

I don't know, maybe it's a coincidence that both of these hits just happened to be against arguably two "would be" WCHA First Team players and captains of their respective teams.

Weird coincidence though...

1. He's good at it.
2. The league has shown that they won't punish him for more than 1 game.

;)

the Genoway hit cannot be classified in any other way than the video shows it. A deliberate and malicious hit to the head that could have easily....EASILY been avoided.

this is how, and why you get labeled a goon.

and if you don't like the label cheer for hockey players that aren't goons. I'm sure SCSU has 20-22 other guys who play good clean hard-nosed hockey. they're just not named Aaron Marvin

Exactly, we wouldn't use our best defensive forward, best penalty killing forward, top line center and an assistant captain.
