Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

in addition, does anybody know of groups of people going to the SCSU/UW series next month and staying in hotels down there? I was going to be hanging out with a friend in Madison and go to the hockey games with her, but a work thing came up and she's only able to go to the Friday game now. So I was just curious if there were groups of people going for that series that I could possibly meet up with and hang out/drink/party with for the Saturday game and afterwards. Otherwise I'll probably just drive back up here right after the Saturday game.

You're ****ting me, you're going down? Lady Wore Black and Mr. Wore Black are going 'cause they only live like an hour from Madison, and so me and it sounds like between 2 and 4 other people are going to. Just get in touch with me through Facebook, and we'll figure stuff out.

Looking at the schedule the Huskies are playing on the big ice sheet the rest of the regular season. I know they have a tough road ahead, but that sure does bode well for this club. Hopefully they can take advantage of that and bring home a regular season title.

If you would like to join Euro's and mine group, like Euro said, talk to him and he will pass on the info to me for tickets. I would like to order them by the end of the week if possible. :)

Good eye TB, I wouldn't have noticed that. There is the chance we could slip to 6th or 7th and play somewhere like Duluth or Grand Forks, but I think they're in a great position to stay where they are, so hopefully the next time they see an NHL sheet will be at the X for the Final 5... and I'd love for them to end up at the X the week after that too. :D

Well i'm going to be visiting a friend in Milwaukee the couple of days beforehand, so it's not like i'd be driving down there JUST for the hockey series. Was kind of a 2 trips in 1 sorta deal. Plus in the past i've driven from here to Grand Forks and back in 1 day just to watch an SCSU game (2006 reg season finale to secure home ice). I'll send you a PM through here b/c well... i'm a moron right now and i'm completely clueless as to who is actually who IRL lol. Blame it on forecasting this snow/ice storm setting up over the Southern US.

And I got my tickets for the NCAA West Regional in the mail yesterday :) Section 119, Row 1, Seat 5. I'll be getting lots of airtime haha :)

HUSKIES NOTEBOOK/QUOTEBOOK:

* Extra skaters on the trip are Jon Ammerman and Brett Barta.

* SCSU coach Bob Motzko on the Tigers: "I just watched them on film. They have a team that can skate. We're going to have to have our penalty kill going. This is a big weekend coming up. We just had a big weekend beating the Gophers but now we've got to back it up on the road and show that it's not just about the hype."

* Motzko on the year-over-year improvement of his defensive corps: "I have a tendency to go after our defensemen. It's one of my faults that I get mad when I see things I don't like and I scoot down the bench and let them know it. Eventually, (assistant coach) Eric Rud will give me the eye and let me know that's enough. I haven't been doing that this year. In the game the other night, one of the (defensemen) turned to Eric and said 'Why doesn't he come down here anymore?' It's because they're not making mistakes like they used to. Chris Hepp is a totally different player than he was last year. So is Oliver Lauridsen. Craig Gaudet is someone who wasn't in there as much last year. Sam Zabkowicz is a better player than he was as a freshman. Brett Barta is contributing. And Garrett Raboin is leading in every way possible now."

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Anyone know when the student tickets for the UND series become available?

This is my first year out of SCSU, but last year and years previous it has always been two weeks prior to the game. Assuming that's still the case it will be this Monday, Feb. 1.

To beat Skeeter to it, that line gives me a boner!

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

I was not able to watch or listen to the game again tonight (**** job), how did Novak look coming back?

Just no one start crowing about how we're in a tie for first place. Because then all the mouth breathers and knuckle draggers will wander in here to ask us how it feels to be the champions of January...and then we'll all want to shoot ourselves. ;)

So then I shouldn't bring up how we're actually in first via tiebreaker for the moment? :D

Naaah, because per Gopher fans that gave me a negative rep, since we haven't won a NCAA title or a game for that matter, being in 1st place right now doesn't mean a thing.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Would've rather seen Gaudet out there tonight instead of Hepp. He has been struggling lately. I like his physical presence but he needs to play smarter hockey. Zabs had a couple big miscues and one led to a goal. For the number of goals that went in I can't really blame Lee, none of them were really that soft. The last PP goal I wish he would've been up a little more as the shot was from quite a ways out and went right over his shoulder. Rotation should continue and we need these two to pick it up again.

Huskies have a big, physical team coming in next weekend. Take nothing for granted. They need all 4 pts next weekend in a bad way if they want a shot at the league title.
