Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

I was just listening to Brian Cardinal on KFAN talking about the Gopher-St. Cloud series, and a thought just occured to me. I know a lot of times people mention that its tough for a freshman goalie to go into a really loud, rowdy crowd on the road. I was thinking more of the road aspect than loud, and was thinking maybe we should have Lee play at home, Dunn on the hostile road. Then I thought.... it might be harder for Lee to play in the NHC against a Gopher crowd than play at the tomb known as Mariucci. :D

I thought about that too, but Lee is 3-4 on the road now after starting 0-4 on the road and I don't think Motzko cares about the home vs away, these guys have a job to do, just get it done.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

I would also think playing in Canada at the World Jrs is significantly more intense than at Mariucci. Although he did sieve out in the championship game but we'll chalk that up to a learning experience.

Have Gaudet and Zabs ever been paired together before? Interesting pairing as it's two smaller guys that can move the puck well.

anything is more intense than Mary Oochie. If they ever get like 3 or 4 goals ahead, then it gets so you can tell there is a crowd (when watching it on TV)

That's because you can see them all leaving to beat the traffic!

Against a small fast skating team like the Goofers I think it is a good idea to have those guys matched up.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Nice weekend for the Huskies.

I thought the D played well all weekend. Yes they gave up some chances but the U does have talent so that will happen.

But most of all, I'm excited to see this team put up 8 (or 7?) even strength goals over the weekend from guys up and down the lineup - not just guys named Lasch or Roe.

Hopefully we can keep it going this coming weekend and take at least 2 from CC.

Bob is a genius with this whole rotating goalies thing! :D

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Before the result of this afternoon's Vermont/UMass game, I've got SCSU currently bound for a Bemidji headlined Worcester regional as a #2 seed against Boston College. I'll update Husky Bracketology tonight after that game since it could have a big impact on the Pairwise.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Guys- just wanted to congratulate you guys on your teams performance of late. Im glad we got you early as your team is playing extremely well right now. Good luck the rest of the way!

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Tommyboy, if you leave now, you could make it to the Motzko show on time.

Skeets, make sure you ask coach about those Hopkins kids. Fons and Skalbeck, we should be on those guys. You could also ask what his strategery is to slow CC down, they were skating circles around us on Sat at the NHC. Is the coaches show on Lite 99.9, same station as the games?

RHM10, thanks for stopping by and the congrats. As I said after our first series of the year I hope we see you guys again, preferably in the Frozen Four and not a Regional! Still a lot of work for both teams before then. Otherwise it will be great seeing Miami at the NHC to start next season.

Coaches show is on KNSI 1450. They have a internet feed, so just google it and you will find it.

How in the hell do we jump from 12th to 5th after sweeping a non-ranked team in a home and home? There were some teams before that I thought we should've been ahead of, but seriously, did they look back at earlier series or what?

Probably the first time they really looked at our schedule and realized ****, they had a tough first half!

Seriously though I was wondering the same thing. I was thinking 9-10 range.
