Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

The crowds have gotten so tame over the years it makes me laugh that people complain about the fans. Hell, people don't even throw dead gophers on the ice any more.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

New chant approved by higher powers. Instead of sieve, you suck it will now be, non-gender carbon based life form, you exist. Also, all players on both teams will where identical uniforms utilizing all colors so as to not offend anyone who may find red, black and white as not tolerant and offensive to blue, green, purple and brown. Plus, all numbers 0 through 9 must be present on each jersey to take any chance of numerical bias out of the equation. Also, for the moment, we will continue to keep score but to respect both teams, there will be no declared winners and losers, just participants who are equally worthy of recognition. Finally, an equal amount of cheering and clapping must be maintained for both teams at all times. Any perceived favortism toward one team over another will be met with immediate dismisal from the National Hockey Center and public declaration of the offender as an intolerant politically incorrect boob. Thank you and have a ............ well, just thank you.

Got to call myself out on the solid use of the English language. where instead of wear. I sometimes think I may drink a bit too much. Boy, I talk good.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

I was just at Scheels and they have shirts (made by nike) that say Husky Nation. Really? That's not a thing is it? I hope it's not a thing. For one, its been done over and over...and over. Also, anyone who wears it to a road game would be ridiculed mercilessly, like the guy that did the Beaver Nation video.

That is the same thing I thought. It would be funny if it was Husky Region or Husky County, But wait until the team wins a National Title to have a nation.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Yeah, but you can bring up an incident like that with ANY WCHA opponent sometime over the last few years. Hell, I was amazed at how much crap was going on with SCSU and MTU when they came to the NHC.

Hey, somebody else just posted about SCSU gear, and that reminded me; does anyone know where they sell the SCSU fleece helmets anymore? I've seen them at Scheel's and I thought they sold them at the games too, and of all people my father said he wanted one (which is funny on a number of levels) and I told him that I didn't know of a single place that sold them anymore, and for all I knew, they may not make them anymore. Anyone have some inside info on this one?

I have seen them in the last month in Scheels and in the CIC locker room.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

I was invited to join some group on facebook about changing the "Sieve you 'suck" chant to "Sieve you 'something else'", dumbest thing I have ever seen.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

I am thinking of bringing a sign that looks like this for the game

The top of course would say "sieve you suck"

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Huskies coach Bob Motzko on Wednesday said sophomore forward Travis Novak, who last weekend suffered an injury opposite the shoulder he hurt earlier this season, will not be available. Junior forward Brian Volpei, out since suffering a shoulder injury Jan. 2, will return to the lineup.

that really sucks! Novak is great on the penalty kill and brings a lot needed speed to the line up.

Is it me or does novak seem to have a glass body like Jon Cullen did? The guy is always hurt......:(

I think he has a real body, although I've never seen him naked.

Re: SCSU 2009-2010 Season Thread

Thanks bauer

So I got this sent to me as a Facebook message:

"Folks,

I met with President Potter today to discuss this issue. He and I discussed the communication break down that happened between himself, the students, and the Department of Athletics. At this time, there will be no changes to the "Sieve" chant presented at the U of M game for Friday.

In the coming months, conversations will be happening regarding conduct at the National Hockey Center. Dr. Potter and I agreed that we can reach a consensus where all involved parties are content. As the elected voice of the Student Association, I will continue to present the point of views as I see them. That includes posts on this page and any other contact I have. As always, feel free to contact me with any issues.

M. "Punch" Jamnick
Student Association President"

First off, I know Michael Jamnick, and if you do too, please do not refer to him as Punch. He gave himself that nickname... you can't give yourself a nickname. So do what a bunch of us have for years... call him Jizzhammer. :D

Second, honestly, I can see the point that people are making about the "You suck" thing, but a) its gotten pretty hard to control. If it were just the student section, that's one thing, now a small but decent portion of the rest of the place does it; and most importantly b) with all the problems in the world and right here in our own country, someone feels this issue is what we need to be spending time fixing?

I was just listening to Brian Cardinal on KFAN talking about the Gopher-St. Cloud series, and a thought just occured to me. I know a lot of times people mention that its tough for a freshman goalie to go into a really loud, rowdy crowd on the road. I was thinking more of the road aspect than loud, and was thinking maybe we should have Lee play at home, Dunn on the hostile road. Then I thought.... it might be harder for Lee to play in the NHC against a Gopher crowd than play at the tomb known as Mariucci. :D

If you get the reference, you should instead call him Koko. :)
