We're getting these in liberal, educated, blue NoVa. It's just a national campaign, it's not targeted anywhere.

The ads are pathetic. They could be for some jerkwater Congressperson. Purely political.
Sounds better than "(Al Gross/Alyse Galvin) IS A ACTUALLY A LIBERAL ON THE PAYROLL OF NANCY PELOSI AND CHUCK SCHUMER AND THEIR ANTI-ALASKA AGENDA!!1!"

And I'm sure Obergefell and my rights to employment will end Nov. 5.

I'm sure a bunch of cishets are telling me to calm down... NOT RIGHT NOW.

The vote last term to protect LGBTQ rights under anti discrimination laws was 6-3. Replacing Ginsburg with Barrett only gets them to 5-4.

But if you're that worried, move. There are 19 states plus DC that protect gender identity at the state level.

So will Michigan after the 2022 ballot initiative.

No no, let Kepler show his work on this one. I'd love to see how he thinks a conservative court will strike down state anti discrimination laws.

You know, maybe you're right and this will hold. But there are still 545 kids who were ripped from their parents. You got a good story for them?

For being so-called allies, thank you for proving to me you're like the husband in the old Shake N Bake commercials. My community does all the work, while you stand there going "and I helped."

Yeah, this country elected Donald J Trump and placed him in charge of the federal government, including ICE, CBP, and the DOJ, among others.

That has nothing to do with state laws and state constitutions.

Keep believing in those institutions. They're holding.

What on earth are you talking about? There isn’t a single post in this discussion that could even remotely be construed as anti-LGBTQ+. We’re talking about the legality and authority of the SCOTUS to strike down state anti-discrimination laws. Being an advocate or not is mostly divorced from discussing the laws. You’d have a point if we were saying those rights weren’t important to you. But we’re not.

You’re angry and terrified. I can try to understand as best I can. But being an ally doesn’t mean agreeing with you 100% of the time.

In blue states, at the state level? Yes, they are.

I really wish Democrats would realize there is more to voting (and governance) than the presidential election every 4 years. For all the spiel of an overreaching federal government by the right, they still understand that the States hold a ton of power which is why they specifically target local and state elections.

You talking to me? I figured this out over 20 years ago. There's still a lot of red in blue states. I'm glad I live in a blue state but I see destruction all around me even here.
