Scoreboard

Vermont gets the only two goals of the third period to come from behind and defeat BC, 3-2.

Lacy Eden has the only goal as Wisconsin leads UMD, 1-0, after 2 periods.

MSU scored in the first, BSU in the 2nd, the Mav's and Beavers are tied 1-1 with 20 minutes left in regulation.

Reece Hunt scores in the third period and BSU wins, 2-1.

Same score in Duluth as should-be-number-1 Wisconsin can't hold their lead when Gabbie Hughes scores to tie. Nina Jobst-Smith finishes the 3-on-3 OT to give the Bulldogs the 2-1 victory.

North Country teams beating up on Capital District teams tonight. SLU and Clarkson leading RPI and Union, respectively, by 3-0 scores, midway through the third.

I've decided that Minnesota vs Ohio State should be known as the 'Spelling Bee' series.
What I don't understand is why the Buckeyes spend so much time telling the rest of us that they should be referred to as "The Ohio State University," but then all they spell is "O - H ... I - O." Do as we say, not as we do.

"O-H ... I-O ... S-T ... A-T-E"

Maybe the pantomime of the S kills the flow. Or maybe the E. I mean, at some point, it's just a weird take on "Y-M-C-A"

But I do like the one I see on twitter from time to time of the three OSU students with the Eiffel Tower forming the I.

That's a commercial for BTN that they've been running fo a number of years. There's a little girl standing on a chair who yells "Go Badgers". I think she may be a freshman by now.

Went to the Buckeyes game, 2 penalties called all night. Look at the Penn State Lindenwood boxscore, and there is 14 penalties! Does this degree of disparity even make sense?

Watched the Clarkson - Union game on ESPN+. First penalty was called on Clarkson before the game started due to delay of game. Other than that, one tripping penalty on each team late in the 2nd period. The referees did not call a number of blatent tripping and interference penalties on both teams. Should have been 8 to 10 total penalties in this game.

Not sure why it is not posted yet, but the Ohio State won the shootout after tying the Gophers, and a scoreless overtime period.

Also could not find this one posted anywhere, I had to go to the BigTen+ replay where I watched the very entertaining final ten minutes as Wisconsin escapes Duluth with a 4-3 win over UMD. Bulldogs appeared to tie the score late but Wisconsin without a timeout and therefore risking a minor penalty if they were wrong challenged the goal as offside several seconds before puck went in. In such moments entire seasons can go one way or the other. The challenge was successful and Wisconsin wins.

Refs have a tough challenge in D1 hockey. There is a big gap between the standards of international (US/Cda games) and D3 hockey (if someone goes down, call a penalty). If you can, watch a replay of the Clarkson / RPI game where the refs let a lot of tough hits go. Clarkson didnt seem to like the approach but I think that it was close to the international standard.
