Scoreboard

The bads news...Minnesota only put 10 shots on goal in the first period. The good news is they scored 4 goals.

Minnesota leads 4-0 over SCSU after 1 period.

At least you are giving them a chance. How sporting of you.

Minnesota started to think their better than maybe they actually are and gave up two late goals to SCSU...

Even though Minnesota still leads 4-2 they have not played very well in this game. They made some nice individual plays in the first period but the second period wasn't very good.

If you thought that after the first period, what will you think after the second? Now 4-2.

Admirable treatment of another school from Minnesota, I tip my hat to the tunnlers. I think it will be best for Saint Cloud if you just let them win this one.

The USCHO box score for the UMD/OSU game doesn't make any sense. It says that the final score was OSU 3, UMD 2 in overtime. However the box has OSU scoring 3 goals in regulation: Buglioni PPG at 1:29 of the second period; Gardner at 17:16 of the second; and Buglioni again at 19:13 of the second. UMD is credited with 2 goals. Then the box repeats Buglioni's first goal, except it's recorded at 1:24 of the second period. There is no overtime goal listed.

Can anyone explain what actually took place?

Buglioni’s late second period goal was disallowed. due to high stick I think. So it was 2-1 OSU to start the third. UMD’s Flaherty tied it up just after Maltais‘ penalty expired.

Buglioni did score in OT though!

I’ve been going to team sites for the real box scores. Numerous issues on the scoreboard here.

Cornell defeated the Lakers 3-0. I thought Izzy Daniels #12 was fun to watch. Lakers got their chances but need to (obviously) put some in the net if they want to upset.

After the completion of the Gopher-Saint Cloud game I tuned BigTen+ over to Ohio State so I was watching when this occurred. The Buglioni goal at 19:13 of the second was disallowed for being directed in with a high stick. She was on one knee just outside the crease and clearly reached up to get her stick on the puck. I dunno, not terribly clear whether from where she was on the ice that the contact with the puck was above the cross bar but the officials ruled that it was. No goal.

Ice Breaker Tournament in Lake Placid

SLU 2 Holy Cross 1

The North Country rivals meet tomorrow in the Championship Game. LGT

Minnesota escapes with the sweep of St Cloud, 2-1. The big takeaway is that this is the best St Cloud team in a long time. I detest the way that Brian Idalski's teams play, but the man can coach.
