Russian Invasion of Ukraine

I wish I could take credit:

2021: The Russian military is second strongest in the world.
2022: The Russian military is second strongest in Ukraine.
2023: The Russian military is second strongest in Russia.

There was multiple tweets that said something to the effect of:

"Wagner took more territory in Russia in one day than one year in Ukraine".

Putin is getting desperate...he has Lukashenko (Fascist in Belarus) trying to broker a deal with Wagner and leaking they agreed to it, even though Prigozhin has already denied it. Meanwhile there are rumors Lukashenko is fleeing to Turkey along with the oligarchs!

I doubt he is actually fleeing but the rumors have been out there since last night and he is a full on Putin stooge so if he thinks the uprising could lead to unrest in Belarus (which it would) he would definitely GTFO.

Edit: MSNBC reporting Wagner is standing down.

I can't wait to see how many people will accidentally fall out of highrise windows after this.

My guess is he made whatever psycho demand he had, got it, and backed off. Putin couldn't afford multiple days of this. I mean Wagner walked right into Russian Southern Command...

If it was fake then it was stupid for both sides. What was the point get The West talking? All it did was make all of Russia look weaker.

A comedian defending his homeland: "I need ammunition, not a ride."

A strongman authoritarian: "I need a ride, not ammunition."

Putin has enough money to buy his withdrawal? Can’t wait to hear what both have to say.

Apparently Putin is dropping all charges and Prigozhin is going into exile in Belarus. There is no chance this is the end for either of them.

This is crazy.

Wagner was welcomed into Rostov...Putin can't be happy.

Those are some crazy a-s developments in less than 24 hours. Belarus might as well be Russia, so that isn’t much of an exile for Prigozhin.

Oh, he dead in the next couple of months.

Russian State Media working overtime giving praise to Belarus' Lukashenko, calling him a Hero of Russia, for intervention.

This.... does not bode well for Putin.

Nope. Hard to be a strong man when your military looks like idiots, your best leader got within 120 miles of the Kremlin and you needed a fellow autocrat to intervene to stop the coup. All on live TV, while your own people cheered them on.

Honestly if Lukashenko wasn't a complete wuss who gets his jollies cosplaying as Bald Bull from Mike Tyson's Punch Out he could cut a deal with Prigozhin and bring Putin to his knees.

Absolutely none of the aftermath of this makes sense without one of the leads ending up with a bullet in their head.

why would you stage a coup then quit 8 hours in?
why would you let fucking Belarus negotiate anything?

Yeah it feels like there is a lot more happening behind the scenes that we are not aware of yet. I don't know if what is actually happening helps or hurts Putin or others, but there's definitely some missing pieces.
