RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

Re: RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

Sir, I am no RPI fan, but I respectfully disagree with your statement based on the following evidence:

RPIchicks.jpg

The photo above was taken at the Houston Field House during the 2nd intermission in the RPI vs. UMass game on October 21, 2008. These women were all RPI students. Therefore, RPI does indeed have multiple hot women. And, as they are fond of saying at RPI, Q.E.D. :D

(Obviously, I'll be wearing a green Dartmouth jersey for this Friday and Saturday games.)

Is the sign a showing of school spirit or is it being used to hide some things less favorable? :D

"I LOVE RUSSIA" would indicate it being a showing of school spirit. Andrei (#27) is Russian.

Okay, so if these are RPI hotties as you claim, why is the guy with the stupid grin on his face wearing a UMass sweatshirt? What, RPI guys don't want to be seen with these lovely ladies? Or perhaps these ladies are turned on by the thought of making it with a RPI reject? What gives?

I thought it was obvious that was Bullmoose.

You see in college, they have these things called sororities, and generally speaking men aren't allowed to join....:p

Really?? I never would have guessed.

Point being that three of the girls behind the subjects of the picture are wearing sorority shirts, which would seem to indicate that they're all together.

It was the greek night at HFH for that game, as I recall. Hence the sorority girls. I don't think the girls from the "Uryadov Fan Club" were with the sorority girls in the back...

There were also a lot of frats there, but the crowd was incredibly quiet and tame. The other time I've been to HFH (for a Dartmouth game) the crowd drowned out the goal horn.

And yes, the guy in the UMass jersey is me. However, as I said earlier in the thread, I'll be wearing a Dartmouth green jersey at Thompson this weekend (for obvious reasons). I'll probably be in the student section side somewhere midway up center ice. Stop by and we can talk college hockey at intermission.

@Skate79: RPI had not the pleasure of rejecting me yet. However, I did turn down Harvard to come to Dartmouth for undergrad, and again to come to UMass for grad school... :p

@RPI folks: do you know if your band is coming to Hanover this weekend?

@Union and PRI fans (and whoever else) coming down to Hanover for the games: make sure to check out the Winter Carnival ice sculptures at the Occom Pond. Go during the day, and you might be able to skate on the pond as well (you can rent skates from the DOC House.) At night they light up some of sculptures. There is other stuff going on around campus during the Winter Carnival, consult this website for events: http://www.dartmouth.edu/~carnival/ Post questions about Dartmouth and the vicinity on this thread and I'll try to answer to the best of my ability, seeing that all other Dartmouth fans on this board are hiding.

Maybe it was the fact that ZooMass completely dominated the game, winning 6-0 and injuring our star freshman. Just maybe.

No. They will be playing at the HFH. It's the final home weekend for the ladies and they're trying to clinch home ice for the playoffs.

Hey, no problem. A lot of guys including myself tip my cap to you for getting such a choice seat. That's a night to remember. Look, RPI went hard after my brother due to his outstanding engineering ability and my parents and I thought he was out of his mind to turn them down. But he wanted to go to a different school. Still can't believe it.

RPI folks: does your school provide video feeds of your men's and women's home games? Reason I'm asking is that I'd like to see the women's game against Harvard tomorrow. Harvard provides only home game video feeds for a subscription during the season. There is a company in California I believe that is handling the service for Harvard. Do you have a similar setup?

It is available on B2Live at cost. It will probably be also available here for free http://www.ustream.tv/channel/rpi-tv-channel-6-stream---live-football-and-hockey. RHamilton will know.

Re: RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

I was aware of the Starr Arena curse but Union's Birght Fright record is only one win better, 2 in total. Nothing can be done about history except make something new and hopefully better. Go U.

RPI TV (student club on campus) does broadcast the women's and men's games on their ustream channel, so long as a professional television station (i.e. Time Warner, ESPNU, etc.) is not broadcasting. Tomorrow's women's game I would think you'd be able to pick up on ustream. Usually they dub WRPI in for audio commentary, but since the men's game will be at the same time, probably a PBP announcer will be providing for the feed. Though our commentary is usually pretty objective, you may prefer to listen to your radio station. It may not match up perfectly, though.

Unfortunately, RPI TV will only be broadcasting the Saturday Dartmouth women's game this weekend. The Friday women's game against Harvard will be carried on B2 ($7) and will be just a single coach's camera operated by RPI Athletics staff. I'm fairly sure they pull an announcer from the Athletics staff for B2 (usually Perry Laskaris), but I'm not sure that they do this every game.

RPI TV and the 1st Church will be at Harvard for the men's team this weekend as spectators; we're not quite at the away production level yet, but we have tentative plans to shoot at Messa next season (or maybe even during the ECAC playoffs!).

There are quite a few at Messa who should be shot. :D ;)
