RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

Re: RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

I'm going to both games this weekend. Since I won't have anything good to say about HU or DC during the games I will start the weekend off with a couple of compliments for the opponents:

There was a nice interview on NPR this morning with Bill Cleary regarding the Olympics. His arguments about why pros don't belong in the Olympics were very well stated. Just seems like a genuinely good and classy guy. We need more like him in the college hockey world.

On the DC side, I have to say that I am really looking forward to refreshments in Hanover. I'll bet there aren't many other arenas out there where you can have a nice bowl of chowder while watching the game. I love it. Throw in the Ben and Jerry's stand for the kids and how can you lose.

Kid Rock? Nice to see he's staying busy in the winter months. Good luck to the boys this weekend...gonna be a couple of tough ones!

I'll be at both games this weekend and located in the broadcast perch of both rinks.

Harvard and Dartmouth are able to rebound. Congratulations on the splits after a pair of embarrassing losses.

Re: RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

I wouldn't want to see another matchup for Union with either Dartmouth or Harvard at any stage of the playoffs.

Re: RPI & Union @ Harvard & Dartmouth (2/12 & 2/13)

I didn't make it to the Union game at Thompson and am glad that I didn't. :(

Loved that our boys played with heart and tenacity for all of RPI game. Being down two goals entering the 3rd period to arguably a more skilled opponent, they didn't fold.

RPI fans: do you know what happened to York? How severe is his injury? I hope that he is allright. Post an update when you have it, please. I was in my usual spot in the center ice and thought he fell kinda awkwardly during the sequence leading to first Dartmouth goal, but I didn't see any contact.

RPI and Union: good luck the rest of the way, unless you are playing Dartmouth (or UMass, though, considering their performance this weekend, at this point it seems highly unlikely that they make the NCAAs)...

When the door's been held wide open for you, it isn't that difficult to walk through.
