RPI Tourney (11/27, 11/28) (Bentley, LSSU, RPI, Union)

Re: RPI Tourney (11/27, 11/28) (Bentley, LSSU, RPI, Union)

On top of that, Snively, the tickets are two-fers. Therefore, come a little early and enjoy the LSSU/Union game as a complement to watching the Bentley/RPI game. Though you'll have to pay again for Saturday, the same will hold true, since Bentley will play at 4PM, you'll be able to watch RPI's game for free.

Getting ahead of ourselves maybe?

Win or lose, RPI is guaranteed to play the 7PM game each night. This means, by disjunctive inference, Bentley is guaranteed to play the 4PM game on Saturday.

Thanks, all. I really like "disjunctive inference." :) Not sure if I will be able to stay for Saturday's games, but will see.

Welcome to a nerd school, where even after the sheepskin, we don't drop the habit. :P

A few tips for you on Houston, Snively:

Parking: Park along the street, but try to get there early. Unless you can get a spot up at the top lot at the Field House, the rest there is by permit or a fire lane (which is pretty much every street around the Field House until you get to Burdett). There's also parking further down at the corner of Peoples and 13th; I'm not entirely sure if they will be running the shuttles.

Pre-game lunch/dinner: Brown's Brewery in downtown Troy is really nice. If you don't want to go that far, there's the Notty Pine on 15th Street, plus a few pizza places around. Concessions are expensive, so pre-game if you can.

Where to stay: You're probably close enough to go home after the game, but the Hilton has just been built along Hoosick Street. If you want something more modest, try Latham (where NY 7 meets I-87). North Lot on the corner on Peoples and 13th is also nice, if you wish to freeload. :P

I imagine they would be. While the students may be gone for the weekend, there's a pretty good turnout of locals who still need somewhere to park, and I don't think the 50 spots remaining around the field house will cut it. :p

Do you know where the shuttle lots are?

Re: RPI Tourney (11/27, 11/28) (Bentley, LSSU, RPI, Union)

Do you know where the shuttle lots are?

North Lot is the pick-up point, it's the big lot adjacent to the Alumni House at Peoples and 13th which FD08 mentioned as a good place to snooze. They put out signs on all the nearby streets starting at like 4pm so it's hard to miss.

If you're there before 6:30 and the weather is nice, you can usually park 1-2 blocks away on Peoples or Burdett and walk up. If it's raining I'd suggest taking the shuttle as you can get wet surprisingly quick walking up the hill in front of HFH.

Concessions are expensive, so pre-game if you can.

Also, Houston Field House is on campus and there are no alcohol sales at the game, so pre-gaming is practically essential unless you're a flasker.

Also very true, RC, although I usually only get drunk at the pro games. I'll pre-game, though.

Flasking is highly underrated, though I haven't done it since I was prowling the halls of Harvard-on-the-Hudson.

I'd imagine that they'll be starting the shuttles earlier for the tourney games, since the first game each day is at 4PM. Then again, I wouldn't put it past RPI to run the shuttles only for the late (RPI) game each night in an effort to save money.
