RPI Tourney (11/27, 11/28) (Bentley, LSSU, RPI, Union)

Re: RPI Tourney (11/27, 11/28) (Bentley, LSSU, RPI, Union)

Union-LSSU may have been one of the worst games I've witnessed in person.

Saw the feed on the net-it was horrible. I don't know who was counting the shots but there weren't many. No hard hitting, and darn few exciting plays. The score adequately represented the game. I am sure it will be very different tonight.

I was remarking to my friends that there's no way the shot totals were accurate. Just poor pace, sloppy play, no flow whatsoever. I saw Ben Barr afterward and asked him about the game and he was pretty displeased with the game.

I should add that the link that I posted also states that Union's top four offensive forwards are serving one-game suspensions for violating a team rule.

I see that the three games are available to watch but is the consolation game between LSSU vs Bentley also availalbe????

Thanks

RPI TV is back with full coverage of today's festivities!

We'll be streaming both of today's games on Ustream here:

Just want to say that I watched last night's game on the Ustream and thought the quality was very good and production was quite professional.. makes Union's video stream look like a bunch of kindergartners:o . Nice job!

Nice set of interviews-explains a lot. Reprt on D'Amigo is of course extremely premature and one can only hope his injury is indeed minor

First off, thanks all for the tips on parking at Houston Field House, etc. You have some fine athletic facilities at RPI, and your team seems to be back on track.

I thought that the officiating in the RPI-Bentley game on Friday night was fine. Preece's three dumb penalties in the 3rd pretty much precluded any comeback possibilities for Bentley.

But, I thought that the refereeing in the Bentley-LSSU game on Saturday afternoon was horrible, about as bad as I have seen in 40+ years of college hockey. First, they miss the call 7 minutes into the first period that ended Osmar's game (and perhaps much more?; they did make the boarding call long after the incident, over 15 seconds after Osmars was down with an obviously bad head injury). Then, they called 6 penalties in less than 7 minutes against Bentley to begin the second, all of which were questionable; two easily could have gone the other way to LSSU players for unsportsmanlike conduct (i.e., diving). Bentley was lucky to survive that shorthanded stretch, only giving up an EAG with a delayed penalty to open the period and a 5-3 (Bentley faced over three minutes of 5-3 in that stint). It almost seemed like these were make up calls for the charging call against LSSU in the first period that ended Osmar's game, but why wait a whole period for this?

I certainly will not complain about HE and AHA refs from hereon after this debacle.

Overall, I enjoyed the tournament, although I could not stay for the RPI-Union game on Saturday night.

Look at the bright side, none of their backs contained "Murphy". :P
