Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Yes, indeed. He sounds like he knows what he was lacking. Although he is quite short, he does seem to be stocky, so he should be able to contribute on defense. I just hope that he does come to Troy.
I think JL is listed at around 5'7 175. As a comparison for folks, Polacek is listed in the media guide as 5'8 175.

When I saw JL play he was a very mobile, skilled skater...and that was a year ago. If he has the kind of "radar" that Polacek has, he should be able to navigate the big boys of the ECAC just fine.

As someone else who has seen Jacob play in person, I can agree with this 100%, he is the real deal. Id really like to make it up to Cornwall again before the season ends to get another look at Jacob and to check out a few more players who recently visited RPI. :D

He is listed as 5'9" 175lb on the official CJHL site http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/playerpage.html?playerid=1453423&seasonid=4401. Your statement of 5'7" is closer to the truth and may still be an exaggeration

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Watching the Colts game on webcast right now, Leboeuf seems to have a pretty good game. Not affraid to use his size as he's dished out a couple good hits, plays the penalty kill with good position and has a pretty good poke check. JL took about every faceoff in the first period and won almost all of them. He also spent some time on the penalty kill.

Thanks for the review, especially about Leboeuf. Did you watch the entire game?

Why is Burlington always late with its boxscores? I'll try again in the morning.

I only watched the first 2 periods, the quality wasnt the best it was almost like watching the game with the lights out in the arena. I might try it again for a Colts away game and see if the quality is a little better.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Eric Ming worked well on a line with Laliberte and Ouellette. http://www.standard-freeholder.com/ArticleDisplay.aspx?e=2435869
The Colts have tried several line combinations, and rookie Eric Ming got a spot with the two veterans last weekend in Ottawa.

"As a line, I thought we had some good things going on with Eric in there,'' Laliberte said.
I guess that is promising for RPI to get both Laliberte and Ming. (I would be surprised if we were interested in Ouelette, but one never knows.)

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

I would think that there will be a number of recruits at HFH this weekend.
Is there a limit as to how many you can have visit at one time.
Meeting the current team and the Championship team could be a big selling point. Especially if Puppa and Carter start talking about their NHL experiences.

Im sure Jooris will bring along a couple of his players from Burlington, I suspect Koudys will probably be one them. Ill have to keep a lookout for Dman Luke Juha as well, Heisenberg has him listed second on his 2011 list from Ontario.

Are you sure that Carter will be there? He hasn't appeared on any list yet.

I don't think that there is a limit, but there probably is a maximum amount of recruits that can be handled. I agree that the '85 team will be a selling point.

Koudys will probably be easy to recognize.
