RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

I can't tell you how P.O'd I was to see the empty band stand two nights in a row...having to explain to Babo and Hubster that "usually, we have a pep band"...a sad state of affairs.

That really surprised me also. Trying to get this thread back on topic, it detracts from the atmosphere at the HFH and could damage the recruiting. I suspect that if we want him, we will get LeBoeuf since he is an '89 who hasn't committed yet, but we do know that Ming has other teams after him.

BTW, the LeBoeuf is a great name for a large player. Too bad that Clara Peller has passed away. :D (I wonder if Wendy's commercials were dubbed in French.)

Recent write up from a game played while JL was playing in WJAC:

"...there were four powerplay goals in the third period, and Cornwall got its pair from 6'4'' defenceman Guy Leboeuf, who unleashed a couple of rockets from the point.

Leboeuf is a third-year Colts blueliner who's offensive side could blossom as the 20-year-old heads toward the second half of his final junior A season.

"Definitely, I'd like to produce more,'' said Leboeuf, a native of West Palm Beach in south Florida.

Leboeuf, who was with Cornwall for the Royal Bank Cup campaign, talked about the maturation process that takes place in junior A hockey.

"I'm more experienced now, I know what to expect from teams around the league,'' said Leboeuf, who had 15 points last year. This season he has four goals and five assists for nine points.

There has been some interest in Leboeuf from NCAA division l programs--there was more after Saturday's performance. (An NCAA team representative spoke with Leboeuf after the contest.)

The quick-releases on both powerplay goals were eye-openers, and it was Leboeuf's first goal, with 9:32 remaining in regulation time -- with the Colts enjoying a second straight two-man powerplay advantage--that looked like it might hold up as the game-winner.

But with 2:25 left, Michael Webley beat Cornwall goalie Doug Carr from down low for his second powerplay goal of the period to tie the game 2-2.

That put Leboeuf in the spotlight again, when he one-timed a pass across the high slot and blasted a shot past Francis Dupuis with 55 seconds remaining in regulation time."

I saw that article. It could have been Vines, but I would be happier if it were someone else who was interested in him also.

I am still chuckling over this line "I am a very fluent skater ..." http://profiles.berecruited.com/athletes/athletics/153463. (He must have meant "fluid".)

Can anyone evaluate "Hardest Slapshot clocked at 89 mph at the age of 15."?

Agree. I see that he was briefly aligned with the Lincoln Stars in 2008, before being released.
I have no idea how serious we are about him..time will tell.

It'd be nice to see Ming commit following his trip...sure would make Seth's week after giving one away on Sat.

I would think that LeBoeuf is more likely to commit very soon since he would be for next season, and although I said that I hoped someone else was also interested, it is quite possible that he hasn't had much serious interest. I don't think that we would invite someone for a visit unless we were serious.

I remember seeing somewhere in the Freeholder that Ming wanted to make a commitment by May of this year, either at an NCAA school or Kitchener. But I agree that LeBoeuf is likely to commit first.

I have no idea if RPI is even interested in them but I found an video interview with the Spink Twins, where they both said there goal this year was to get a scholarship to an ncaa school. Theres also a few short clips JL, one at the very end scoring a goal.

I think it's safe to assume we are interested in the brothers Spink...along with about 50 other schools. :p

Sure would be nice to see an interview with JL...to hear a few words from th kid.

Ming did indeed say something like that.
