Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)
Recent write up from a game played while JL was playing in WJAC:
"...there were four powerplay goals in the third period, and Cornwall got its pair from 6'4'' defenceman Guy Leboeuf, who unleashed a couple of rockets from the point.
Leboeuf is a third-year Colts blueliner who's offensive side could blossom as the 20-year-old heads toward the second half of his final junior A season.
"Definitely, I'd like to produce more,'' said Leboeuf, a native of West Palm Beach in south Florida.
Leboeuf, who was with Cornwall for the Royal Bank Cup campaign, talked about the maturation process that takes place in junior A hockey.
"I'm more experienced now, I know what to expect from teams around the league,'' said Leboeuf, who had 15 points last year. This season he has four goals and five assists for nine points.
There has been some interest in Leboeuf from NCAA division l programs--there was more after Saturday's performance. (
An NCAA team representative spoke with Leboeuf after the contest.)
The quick-releases on both powerplay goals were eye-openers, and it was Leboeuf's first goal, with 9:32 remaining in regulation time -- with the Colts enjoying a second straight two-man powerplay advantage--that looked like it might hold up as the game-winner.
But with 2:25 left, Michael Webley beat Cornwall goalie Doug Carr from down low for his second powerplay goal of the period to tie the game 2-2.
That put Leboeuf in the spotlight again, when he one-timed a pass across the high slot and blasted a shot past Francis Dupuis with 55 seconds remaining in regulation time."
