Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

You're correct, of course, but Nick Economakos wore #4 and was a forward. C.J. Hanafin wore #3 at the same time and was also a forward.

Edit: Jean Beliveau wore #4 also as a forward for the Canadiens. :D

Vincent Lecavalier of the Lightning also wears #4 and is their team captain and starting center.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

I don't know if this is significant, but the Cornwall Colts have acquired Mathieu Ouellette http://centraljuniorhockeyleague.ca/view/CJHL/news-110/news_9294 who was Jacob Laliberté's teammate (and I think linemate) two years ago in Hawkesbury http://cjhlsite.stats.pointstreak.com/teamplayerstats.html?teamid=56355&seasonid=2033.

Just curious, whats the scoop on Ouellette? Does he have any MJ experience, Im not seeing him listed on Heisenbergs site anyplace. He was the leading scorer for Cumberland before his trade to Cornwall.

Perhaps even more promising for Colts fans, Ouellette and Colts captain Jacob Laliberte are close friends, and they played together in Hawkesbury early on in their junior hockey careers.

"We played (together) in Hawkesbury for two years and had good chemistry," Ouellette said.

"Hopefully, the chemistry's still there."

The two pals wasted little time in reconnecting as Laliberte showed his new teammate around the city and the rink on Monday during Ouellette's first official day as a Colt.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

It will be interesting to see how that line of Ming, JL and Ouellette does. I wonder if SA can work something out to bring Ouellette to Troy with JL next year and maybe see a reunion of this line at HFH in a couple years.

Pirri + O'Grady = JL + Ouillette ? :D

I don't know why Ouellette is not listed by Chris Heisenberg. He is small like Laliberte. Perhaps he doesn't have the speed and puck sense that JL has, which would mean that he may not be able to succeed at the next level.

Knowing SA's ability as a recruiter over the last few years, it is conceivable that he influenced the trade to get a line of Laliberte, Ming, and Ouellette together. Anything is possible. OTOH, Ouellette is an '89 which means that this is his last year in juniors. We don't exactly need more forwards for next season, especially with the recent Brutlag experiment.

I agree Ralph, I was just having some fun! Aside from keeping JL on track to get to Troy, I think getting Ming to commit is SA's priority in Cornwall. Then again, id Ouilette'd family happens to be loaded, and not need scholly $$$, I say bring him on ! :D

I agree that Ming should be the top priority. I wouldn't mind getting the Spink twins either.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

We can dream !:D

Speaking of dreams... I'm sure Ralph already caught this but I just ran across it on the Standard-Freeloader website.

If you're into reading the tea leaves, Ming in the past has talked about playing at NCAA school RPI near Albany being a dream of his. He visited the Harvard campus in the Cambridge section of Boston last year, and he's being looked at by many of the ECAC teams.

Get it? Ming tea? Oh those wacky Canadians.

Yes, that was posted earlier. As to Ming Tea, I had to look it up. :)

Edit: You probably missed it earlier because you have all Clarkson fans on ignore http://board.uscho.com/showpost.php?p=4506257&postcount=812. :D

The blog covering the Penticton Vees has an entry detailing the naming of a mammoth hamburger after recruit Luke Curadi. A few pictures of Luke enjoying "The Big Red Burger" are included. I think we'll need to get one of the local establishments to add this burger to their menu, when Luke arrives in Troy ! :D
