On Saturday, the Des Moines Bucs defeated the Omaha Lancers 5-4. Unconfirmed, unsubstantiated blueline target Austin Coldwell was scoreless, but rumoured to have played well. :D His lines is now: 28-8-9-17

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

On Saturday, the Penticton Vees defeated the Quesnel Millionaires 7-3. Luke Curadi scored a goal and had a roughing penalty. http://www.bchl.ca/leagues/hockey_boxScores.cfm?clientID=1413&leagueID=2393&gameID=712869

Curadi's line is now 41-5-8-13-77.

One of Luke's teammates had a 2-5-7 line in the game including scoring on a penalty shot. It's impressive to participate in 7 of 7 goals.

Curadi's goal is at about 1:03, followed by a replay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zwq-Dx88UWw&feature=player_embedded. "When Curadi shoots the puck, he very seldomly misses the net."

As for Laliberte, MacInnis said "we'll see . . . we'll be very cautious -- (after last night's game) we have a little bit of healing time, which is good.''

Cornwall's next game is at home on Thursday against Mike Ruest's Ottawa Jr. Senators, and Laliberte's return for that one would seem to be a definite possibility.
:)
Also on Sunday, MacInnis shot down the rumour in some hockey circles that captain Laliberte would bolt from Cornwall to join a major junior A club.

"No, that's not happening,'' the coach said.

There's some good solid evidence, but I'd rather hear it from the horse's mouth. Maybe we should bring him to Troy for the Freakout so Ed Weaver can ask him directly. :)

At any rate, it could be construed in the pessimist's view that the coach was just talking about during this season and not next year.

Can you explain what the solid evidence is?

I hate to say it, but I am maintaining my view that JL landing in Troy is a 50-50 shot at best...sorry if I am channeling DocD. I would note that I am ready, willing and eager to be proven wrong on this. I know I sure am tired of worrying about it.

I will buy a round of beer at the Notty for anyone here when Ralph shows us JL's listing in the student locator. RC, I will ask you to remind of this offer when that great day arrives. :D

Posting from my cell phone, so I can't actually go out and get one, but consider both of you officially facepalmed. :)

On Sunday, the Olds Grizzlys defeated the Toronto Junior Canadiens 4-3 in overtime. Matt Tinordi had two goals, one on the power play. He was named the game's star for the Olds. http://www.ajhl.ab.ca/leagues/hockey_boxScores.cfm?clientID=1705&leagueID=3464&gameID=714226

Tinordi's line is now 43-15-15-30-42.

It's bad enough that there is a team called the Toronto Junior Canadiens, but if they've started playing in the Alberta league that is just unforgivable.

Denver Manderson, Captain, will most likely go on to Europe because he ages out this year...illustrates the sad situation when a player develops after a major junior team over recruits and players have to jump ship to get ice time for development:(
