Ralph...that does not take into account th eEuropean pool, which has more players on it than last year...very tough nut to crack but I'm told Curadi isn't satisfied with 113 (which is good if he continues to develop...);)

NA meant North American.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

It's bad enough that there is a team called the Toronto Junior Canadiens, but if they've started playing in the Alberta league that is just unforgivable.

Fixed. :)

I agree about the team name. Can't you see a junior team in Boston called the Boston Yankees?

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

Ah so. Quinn's early season turmoil/team change probably didn't help his status/

I agree. He seems to only now be reaching the level he was before the trade. He also wonder if it will take him a while to crack the lineup at RPI next year. I see Bailen, with his experience, fitting in immediately, but I wonder about Quinn. Curadi will also probably adapt faster if he arrives next season.

Bergin, Foss, and Kennedy are givens at defense. If Brutlag goes back to defense, he will be too, but it wouldn't surprise me if he stays up front. Zarbo is also a question mark. So I see one or two regular postions open, depending upon Brutlag.

Agreed. Also, Greg Burgdoerfer is a reformed blueliner...I'd love to know what position he's been practicing at.

Are you sure that Greg B played defense? He has been playing forward at least since we signed his brother. I have always figured that he could play defense since his twin does. I should have mentioned him just for that reason.

On Sunday, the Fargo Force defeated the Youngstown Phantoms 3-2. Rumoured RPI target Grant Scott did not play. Scott's line remains: 21-1-6-7

He's listed on the RPI roster as a forward and jersey number 14 isnt usually a worn by dmen.

Although #4 isnt normally worn by forwards either. :)

I could have sworn he did at one time, but now I think not. Let's call him a forward. :p

You're correct, of course, but Nick Economakos wore #4 and was a forward. C.J. Hanafin wore #3 at the same time and was also a forward.

Edit: Jean Beliveau wore #4 also as a forward for the Canadiens. :D

A name from my era! As I recall he was pretty good:eek: As a Ranger fan though I hated him and all the rest of that powerful Canadien dynasty.

I know Jacques brother and went to school with his nephew -- they live in the area.

Re: RPI Recruiting II: Knowlton's Rangers (enlistments open)

I believe his full name is Jean (Captain of the Montreal Canadiens) Beliveau. Every time he skated down ice with the puck on those sunday telecasts the announcer invariably used the his full name. And of course he shoots he scores!
