The NCAA Men's Hockey Facebook page has been counting down the days to the season and including a famous player who wore the jersey of the number of days remaining. #12 is Adam Oates.

With several forward spots up for grabs on the Blackhawks' roster, Pirri will have two games to impress the coaches and management and prove that he has the skill and maturity to make it in the NHL.

pretty good so far for BP...2assists (one on a SHG) (other on PP)....2-0 Blackhawks. In between periods they changed the scoring, takeaway the PP assist for BP.

Good start to the pre-season for JD'A. Scores 2g and 1a. Marlies haven't named a "C" yet so 3 players wore the "A" with Jerry being one of them. BTW, that #38 player for the Marlies in the picture is Kory Nagy who I had the pleasure of skating with the last several weeks @ the Bethlehem Y.... http://blog.marlies.ca/marlies-defeat-bulldogs-5-3/

was at the HFH for the Adirondak Jr. game vs Syracuse Stars this afternoon. Justin Smith, Patty Cullen and Allen York were there.... working out. Smitty will be heading off for Wheeling (ECHL) in a day or so, Patty is still mulling options as to where he'll play & Yorkie will be heading to Evansville (ECHL). Said he had a real good camp with some positive feedback while @ Nashville. The low cap is hindering what alot of NHL Teams can do this year so he'll start the year in the E & see where it takes him.

When the Bears send people down, they usually go to Reading, which, as the press release notes, is where they sent everybody except Burgdoerfer.

Tim Leone of the Harrisburg Patriot-News noted that Bakersfield's head coach, Troy Mann, is a former Hershey assistant, so he could theoretically have some idea what the Bears are looking for Burgdoerfer to do in order to be recalled.

Decided to take advantage of being out here in the Bay Area - going to see the San Francisco Bulls game tonight because the Bakersfield Condors are in town! The team doesn't just have two RPI alums, there are also several alums from other schools. One Harvard player and a few from Clarkson, including Paul Karpowich as the backup goalie.
