It did OK during the Brown playoffs a couple of years ago (although they weren't allowed to do that, and ended up getting fined for it), and there were a large number of people watching that. Granted, I'm sure that the staff will keep a close watch on attendance figures, as I'm sure some people think people won't go to the games because of this.
In speaking of this, has there been any discussion regarding playoff streaming? Obviously it's the ECAC that controls budget on that and not the school (hence the obscene price for playoff tickets), so it wouldn't surprise me if the league demanded stream revenue.
My job on campus is calling alums for the Annual Fund - I've mentioned the streaming to anyone who I talked to about hockey who lives too far away to go to games.I hope the streaming goes well this season and only gets better - I'll certainly be taking advantage of it in a couple years when I graduate if I'm not close enough for season tickets.
