Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2012 Part II: (Insert Title Here)

I see where they are looking for a new head of College Hockey Inc.
http://www.uscho.com/2012/06/04/college-hockey-inc-seeking-new-executive-director/

I noticed the search is being conducted by Commissioner Hagwell. I have taken the trouble to write a job advertisement for the vacancy.

College Hockey Inc. is seeking an individual to perform the duties of Executive Director. Applicants must have proven track record of being a sycophant and willingly to blindly adhere to direction. A successful candidate should have no independent thoughts that aren’t formulated by the Commissioners. An ideal candidate will inform ECAC Dir. of Officials consistently what a great official he was in the NHL. Also candidates must have a grudge or bias against RPI and its great young coach. The new Executive Director must feed stories exclusively to Adam Wodon and other friendly media outlets so that they can be reviewed by the ECAC League Office before being published.

Maybe he should be recruiting Charley McCarthy the wooden dummy he would fit the mold perfectly and be a great drinking partner for Stewie

My gut feeling is not enough to keep the lovely and vivacious Jenny...and the good Docter in Van Gogh !!!!

You are so right! I would at the very least need an expense account that covered any and all meals and liquor.;)

Today is 11 June 2012. There are 117 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 6 October for the start of next season.

That is the day that an exhibition game is supposedly scheduled.

Im assuming the event will become more popular now that PSU is on board and will also be getting help from the Pens with marketing, etc... especially if they'll be bringing in big named schools like OSU, Miami and BC in the near future.

Speaking of BC, I went back and read the blog that mentioned the possibility of BC playing RPI at MSG during the 2013-14 season. I didnt realize that idea was based on Hockey East having only 20 league games, so if UConn does join HEA that season, which I dont see why they couldnt, they would have 22 league games and im not sure if there would be enough room on their schedule for the MSG game. The blog also mentioned the possibility of the NHL Winter Classic being held at Yankee Stadium in next few years, I think it would be great if RPI found some way to play a game there, either a ECAC game like the Harvard/Union game last season at Fenway or a non-conference game. Who would possibly be a good opponent for RPI at Yankee Stadium?
perhaps MSG is looking to shake up it's semi-annual Cor/BU as it appears this year it's Cor/Michigan. So maybe RPI/BC in 2013-14 is possible. http://michigancollegehockey.blogspot.com/2012/06/wolverines-to-play-madison-square.html

I see the golf outing is set for Aug. 13th. I would love to attend, but as a single not knowing anyone, I would ask that if anyone needs a 4th, I would love to play in the outing.

I also received a letter on that, including about 6 paragraphs of "please give us money". I can't play golf at all.

My understanding is that MSG doesn't really book it, Cornell does (or did with BU previously). BU wasn't interested in doing it every year, so Cornell went looking for other opponents. I'm pretty sure that the plan is for another BU/Cornell game in 2013.

There was a blog post by a BC fan that stated that a double-header in 2013 was possible. Link

Next time I hear you or someone complaining about not recruiting the USHL or Western Canada enough, I'll refer you back to this post. Bottom line is it takes money to recruit, equip and field a legit D1 team.

I'm rehabbing a knee at the moment, so there's no golf in my immediate future. I 've offered to volunteer as Seth's personal cart driver for the day...I havent heard back from him:eek::D Seriously though, I might buy a ticket to the dinner ...hint, hint, to those non-golfers on the board.
