The US defeated Slovakia 5-3 for 7th place in the Ivan Hlinka tourney. USA Hockey doesn't have its summary up yet, but here is the Slovakian one. :) (The bottom of the boxscore shows the lineup.) No points for Melanson who I think finished 4-0-1-1-2.

The long off season slumber in the RPI S.I. office continues. No pics of golf outing posted on website...

It's football season, so that heads the news now. Also, both assistants left, so it is a one-man show for a while.

Today is 18 August 2012. There are 49 days (7 weeks) until RPI's next game.


This is based upon 6 October for the start of next season.

That is the day that an exhibition game is supposedly scheduled.

Baloney. I don't want excuses.:p The hockey team has Kevin Anderson and the Athl. Dept. has a dedicated marketing specialist in Vines' better half. Between them and the SID, there's plenty of people drawing a check on the payroll, with nothing to cover other than how much Gatorade the football players are drinking at practice. 5 days later and the golf pics still aren't up. Weak.

Hello Everyone! The Second Annual RPI Hockey Tailgate will be held on October 12th at "Some-time-after-lunch-until-the-last-man-standing staggers into HFH". I will be sending an email to the parents as soon as I receive the official contact list. The invitation is open to all posters who wish to meet the parents and say hello to one another. I will stand in as "Julie, your cruise director" (Babo, your cruise director sounds like a defective buoy). If you are attending and are so inclined, feel free to bring a tidbit to share and your beverage of choice (I choose 'adult' beverages and will have some to share). It's really more of an unofficial 'kick off' to the season and I had no idea that last year's parents' weekend was the first one so we are already a part of the tradition! I hope all of you can make it! Cannot wait for the season to begin...Go Engineers!!!:cool:

It has to be on Friday so we don't interfere with other Parent Weekend activities. I HOPE we don't have snow...AND I hope Ralph, you and the others can all make it. :)
