You guys will soon be receiving great news in regards to one of your greats from the 1985 team....so be on watch....
maybe one of the D-men from '85 will take over the volunteer spot vacated by Modry? I'll see if I can get anything from SA in a couple of hours.

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2012 Part II: (Insert Title Here)

I stumbled across this really nice article - with a few pics - giving an update on the impact Joe Juneau is having on the kids of Nunavik....mixing academics and hockey. Also, mentions one his boy players leaving Nunavik for greener academic AND hockey pastures in Montreal area...let the recruiting begin !!! (Sorry if this was posted previously)

I doubt that any is interested in getting a starting job in college coaching at this point in his life unless he has another job in the CD.

Great time at the golf outing today with Aspydad, Troyboy and EHF. Too tired to make a long post of what we learned but will try to submit a report in the morning. Guessing Turk will have a lot more news and most of the same news I may have gathered throughout the day. Aspydad u better practice a few more times before we get together and I take your money!! Don't forget I'm already 10 to the plus.

Today is 14 August 2012. There are 53 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 6 October for the start of next season.

That is the day that an exhibition game is supposedly scheduled.

Just wanted to say that I had a great time at the outing, and thank Aspydad for the invitation. Anyone who has an interest in the RPI hockey team and the opportunity should attend this event.
I got to meet all the players and Coach Appert.
I can only report that the entire team is genuine, clean cut and personable. I was not able to stay to hear any comments or questions after dinner, so I will leave the reports to Aspydad and Troyboy et al.
Great day.

EHF, so glad you came. Honor and pleasure meeting you, look forward to seeing you soon. I had the full throttle load on so I don't remember much.

Enough with the love fest, give us a report. :p

No Captains named yet. Turk worked the room more than me. tb made birdie point on 1, highlight of round. On a hole that measures 340 and change Bokenfohr drove it hole high over a green side bunker. The kid hammers his driver, hope he a slap shot like that.

Great time @ the Banquet yesterday. Let's see; looks like JL isn't the smallest player this year, I'ld say Travis Fulton is a shade smaller. Mike Zalewski is all of 6'2" 210.....I'ld bet Milos Bubela is closer to 6'3" THAN 6'2" 185-190, has the frame for another 10-15lbs.....Jason "Kassy" Kasdorf is a legit 6'3 & heavier than I thought he'ld be......CJ Lee looks like he's been in the gym with JD'A....Marty O'Grady will be on the shelf till Nov. (5 months recovery time).....the only frosh I didn't get a chance to talk with were Bokenforhr (size is legit) & Commers. As expected (from an SA recruited team) they all seem like terrific young men. I asked several people about some supposed announcement concerning someone from the '85 team but no-one seemed to know anything (at least they weren't saying)........It was mentioned that probably next year would be when they honor Adam Oates.....Lake Placid will be made official today (Tues.) although the big ice was somewhat of an issue but as Col. Knowlton said, "they'll all have to play on it". The only player who wasn't there was Greg Burgdoerfer (Eric was though) as he's still in Cali. finishing up his intership @ Apple. Some past players there; Eric B., Yorkie, K. MacDonald, Tony Henja, Scot Basiuk,& Dino Macaluso (who did a great job auctioneer), I'm probably missing someone. Maybe some of the other posters who were there can fill out the rest. Oh, Nolan Graham is over in Russia w/Melanson (I'm sure doing some scouting also).

Thanks for the report. It is all appreciated. More comments by others will also be appreciated. I sort of guessed that O'Grady would miss some time.

Are you saying that CJ Lee has grown a beard? ;)

Oates was honored when he made the Ring of Honor. What will this be be for? Hockey HoF?

If Melanson is in Russia, it isn't surprising that he hasn't gotten any points in games played in the Czech Republic and Slovakia. :D Good to know taht someone is watching over him though.

I cannot ever recall any of our teams that could not be described that way. I love your description-but I hope they are aggressive, unforgiving, and nasty on the ice during every game. Let them all be gentlemen only after the 60 minute buzzer.:)

So you want them to be gentlemen in overtime, eh? ;)

Doc, I made the same comment to SA and followed it up with I hope they can play hockey.
His comeback was basically Me too.
One more comment, This year, the defense is going to be very tall, with great wing spans. I would love to see them put on a few more pounds. (all except Curadi)
