Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

I like any exposure for college hockey that ESPN can provide-the game deserves to be seen. But these games were indeed boring blowouts. Hopefully when we get there in the next few years we can provide some excitement like we did in 1985:D

DrD, you're clearly jealous. :D

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

Nope. Wasn't there. I, like RB, would like to know about JL, tho'...

Does Babo confirming the lack of a JL presence at accepted students day also confirm the presence of the BRO? Also, does this mean he will be a 2010? By the way, I also some some RPI jerseys broadcast for the championship game.

Unashamedly so! I waited a long time for 1985 and have again waited a long time since. I am ready for the boys to make the next move up. I don't care if we win (yes I really do!)I just want for us to be there again. :)

Ah, thanks for the confirmation. He must have a doppelganger.

I didn't see JL, but I wasn't expressly looking either.

I believe Babo was confirming the BRO's absence, not JL's.

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

I guess you can put me and a number of others on this thread in that catagory.
And when we get there, we will be the team that everyone else will be jealous of. :D

Well, it makes a guy feel good to be in league with so many other bad people. :)

They say a man is judged by the people he associates himself with. If that's true, I'm certainly glad I associate with Ralph, WS, DrD, ehf, GLM, redhead18, FlagDUDE, burgie12, knsmith, babo, AspyDad, RHamilton, jmhusker, GRussinko, RPIHFH, and fr joe, among others.

To paraphrase Joe DiMaggio: "I'd like to thank the Good Lord for making me an Engineer."

Anymore on SA getting the four year extender? This is the only place I have seen this info. Ralph have you heard anything? Thanks.

Today is 12 April 2010. There are 179 days until RPI's next game.

This is based upon 8 October for the start of next season.

I have heard nothing except for rvd's post, and he didn't divulge his source.

The doppelganger is probably a defensive lineman. :)

It wouldn't surprise me if none of the recruits showed up for this.

We do have quite a group here-can anyone imagine what the number of posts will reach if we actually do have the kind of team that routinely wins and is an annual NCAA tournament competitior? We will need to think of a new thread titile every week:eek: All kidding aside, we are about 2 defensemen and one scoring forward and one power forward away from that level. We are just missing a few pieces, the rest is already here. Then we need coach SA to show that he can mold a group like that into a cohesive, consistent winner. This is starting to feel a litle bit like the early 80's. :)

Re: RPI Off-Season Thread 2010 -- The Calm Before the Storm

There has been speculation on the Union thread (mainly by me) regarding Nate Leaman's contract status generated at least in part by Seth Appert's recent additional multi year extension. I was curious if anyone has any info about SA's or typical ECAC coaching salaries.

There was another thread on this forum about coaching salaries (probably a few pages down), but it did not give any information regarding ECAC coaching salaries due to its unavailability.

RHamilton, given your knowledge concerning the inner budget workings, do you know if the Rensselaer Union's budget controls this and/or if there is publicly released documentation regarding this information?
