I happen to be in Atlantic City this weekend. As I walked past Boardwalk Hall, I noticed they already had a large sign advertising the ECAC finals on March 16 and 17, 2012. Though judging by the way that place looks from the outside, I can see why they try to drum up interest early...

Enjoy your time on the shore. This is another reason why we should go to HE. Crappy tourney fron ECAC.

I think there's one factor we should consider before complaining about those championships...

Getting past the 11 or 12 seed in the first round?
Not catching a disease from a girl on the shore?
Not going too far off the strip at night?
Making sure JL actually gets to Troy and on time?

E. All of the Above. :D

Hate to say it boys but I had fun down there last year. Winning helps but the place is what it is, I stayed 10 minutes outside of town for $50 bucks a night and had fun. There are enough bars nearby for a pre or post game get together. They also sold beer within the arena. I'll go back if Yale makes it.

This is a thoughtful analysis of the topic. Though moving the athletic program to Division I would present some problems, it could be done now with the new facilities. A major stumbling block aside from the cost and the resistance to change in a very conservative institution like RPI is the likelihood that many in the surrounding neighborhood would not be happy about the increased traffic created by large numbers of fans attending football and basketball games.

That ship has already sailed. As usual, the City put RPI through the ringer during the planning and review process, including more of the decades long bedwetting from the Fire Department. Bottom line is that the facilities are in place, and the 'tute could make the D1 jump, if they choose to do so. (I personally don't see it happening, which probably means that its imminent :D.)

I am a neighbor of the Tute and take my evening walk up the back hills. I agree 100% with my old friend WS that the Troy FD has treated the Tute like second class citizens. The leadership's conduct has been awful and I believe the Mayor's office has been a willing accomplice. If SLJ wants a triple bay garage she should have one. This is America after all. Oops....I forgot we have a socialist in the White House.

Last year the 1st Capt.'s practice was Aug.11. They will be practicing at HFH. SA has told me he has no problem with the public watching but it's in the hands of the HFH personnel as far as unlocking doors. One of our "esteemed" posters is currently looking into that
