RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

If you read the article, Vaughn was "reached out to"......hardly in the running.

From the article

"(Ken) Ralph also reached out to former Colgate coaches Don Vaughan and Stan Moore to gauge their interest." Really, man...stop. I know you don't like me but stop Flagdudding (or Ralphing) me to death.

Oh so I'm a dud now, eh? ;):D

The WMU thread is reporting that Andy Murray was named their new coach. He was one of the finalists when SA was named and supposedly was offered the job.

Interesting. Certainly a good hire from an X's and 0's standpoint. I have to think his success will hinge on who his AC's/recruiters are. Now more than ever, connections to the Jr. game and as important scouting the younger leagues is more crucial than ever...given the intense competition for recruits.

From a little bit of Facebook stalking, it looks like the Captain's "practices" will begin in a couple weeks, at least including the freshmen.

Looks like you're replacing Ralph as top stalker after years of domination.

USCHO article about Murray being hired at WMU mentions his previous RPI job offer http://www.uscho.com/2011/07/26/ene...h-murray-crosses-college-job-off-bucket-list/.

"I actually never did accept [the job],” Murray said. “I was offered the job, and it was at a point when I had a great [campus] visit. I remember walking around with the president of the university, who took me past the architecture and biomedical engineering buildings and asking, ‘Does the hockey coach have to be smarter than his players? You may have the wrong guy here.’

Quite sadly, there are some mechanisms that are making it easier these days. I remember back in the day when stalking took effort. What troubled times we live in... :p

Can you imagine the damage that Ralph would do if he were on FB? Can't you see RB requesting to be friends with JL.

I will admit I'm following Curadi on twitter just for the shear craziness that he is. RB would be requesting to be friends with recruits from the class of 2017 just to get a leg up on FlagDude :)

Re: RPI Off-Season III: Another Helping of Mindless Speculation and Idle Chit Chat

I am waiting for my apology from S8onthepond.

The article is not accurate. Don Vaughn is not a former Colgate coach.....his is the Colgate coach and did not apply for the position. Stan Moore is a former Colgate coach and applied for the position. I stated that KR reached out to Vaughn.....which is what happened.......probably to speak about Stan. At any rate, who the heck cares. Sorry for the mindless speculation.....as RC would say!:)

6'1", 145? I know there was talk he was lacking a bit in the weight department, but I really hope he throws on some weight in the next few months. Doc, is that height/weight ratio considered healthy?

He is going to be fine. I assume that he played more games in the U than he will play next year. At any rate, send him to I Love NY Pizza to pack on the pounds.

Im pretty sure Tri-City used last seasons measurements in that article. The RPI release that came out last week has him at 6'1" 160lbs.
