Just to derail this further, Laguna Seca is unusual for a road course in that it's run counter-clockwise, and therefore left turn dominated :)

EDIT: I see you fixed your post!

Took a wrong turn there... Thank you for knowing your tracks! ;)
We'll talk some NASCAR once the ice melts at season's end. :)

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

We're getting pretty close to needing a new thread, does anyone have any bright ideas for titles?

Was looking at some other threads tonight and would you believe that Yale, with the season they're having, is 420 posts into their first thread of the season? (August 2010???) :(

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

Thread Title - "When going to Atlantic City Bet on Red"

That's actual pretty good. A tad premature and i would like it for the last thread of the season-but it is still pretty good.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

If I read the scores thread right, RPI won tonight's game despite being outshot 38-16. Sounds like Yorkie stood on his head.

Ralph's suggestion to name the next thread in honor of our guy between the pipes sounds pretty good right now.

He was called upon to do a lot of work-only made one glaring mistake giving up a goal with 10 seconds left in the first by mishandling the puck. But more than made up for it with a great overall performance. A game we should have won easily-but struggled and almost gave a way with tons of penalties. If we take that many tomorrow we will be in deep trouble. Dartmouth is not Harvard and we need to play lights out defense.

A couple of articles by Ed Weaver

An article about several things, Higgs' return, the earlier report that Halpern is back was wrong, and a discussion about possible overtime changes http://www.troyrecord.com/articles/...4d3925d0f0fdb416255758.txt?viewmode=fullstory.

An article about this weekend's opponents http://www.troyrecord.com/articles/...4d392569857c0220541823.txt?viewmode=fullstory.

Hey Ed, Yea I am addressing you because you use the themes on this thread all the time. Leaman is not the Coach of the Year. Any guy who's bread and butter is the trap is not the Coach of the Year. You might want to quote me because people use my stuff in newspaper blogs all the time.

Shouldn't the hometown news paper guy push his man for coach of the year.Everyone here convinced me that when Ken Schott pumps up Union he is only doing his job as a reporter for the hometown newspaper I finally got that thru my thick skull and have come to terms with it (after counseling of course) So would I be safe to say "our guy" isn't doing his....only asking....if I were SA I wouldn't give him crap for info.Give me Phil Rizzuto any day he made schottzie look like a girl scout !

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

That was pitiful. My favorite 2 were the high stick that was called with 2:20 or so left, and Hicks arm didnt go up until the Harvard player fell, and nobody was around him.(The Harvard player) The one on Chase along the boards, the cross check was weak, as was the board on Malchuck near the Harvard bench. Clean hard hit by Malchuck and hopefully he keeps it up. They missed numerous calls on Harvard.

This guy tried to screw us again like he did at Union earlier this year but it didnt work. If I did my job that bad I'd be canned the next day.

Tough to gauge how we played because we couldnt get any flow going, but all in all thought the effort was strong, and Polacek played a hell of a game, besides the 2 goals, made some nice defensive plays, backchecking, etc.

I agree. Losing 2 kids to pro contracts and still being ranked for a better part of the year and above .500 in the ECAC(as of now) is only good enough for honorable mention? What happens if Union tanks? Then who gets coach of the year?

Not to mentiion any objective person (of which I'm not when it comes to my beloved engineers) who was going to pick a coach today would be compelled to pick Keith Alain....OHHHHHH thats crazy lets go w/ the coach of our crosstown rivals !!!!!!!!!

My opinion is that we carried the play...in fact the first period looked like a 20 min.power play...that was until the refs (both) decided they would interject themselves into the game as usual...we could have very easialy won 5 zip we hit a cross bar and had a puck go across the goal line missing by inches take away the bonehead play #30 made and its 5 - 0...HOCKEY EAST or BUST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sit behind the vistors bench...we can't blame Hicks on that one because Ted Danato called that one for him !

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth
