Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

If I read the scores thread right, RPI won tonight's game despite being outshot 38-16. Sounds like Yorkie stood on his head.

Ralph's suggestion to name the next thread in honor of our guy between the pipes sounds pretty good right now.
BTW, if you don't realize it, the wording is a paraphrase of the BC thread, changing Jerry York to Allen York.

Real measuring stick game coming up. Have to beat a very good, highly ranked Dartmouth team in our barn. This is the kind of game you have to win to get into the NCAA tournament. I just hope the officials give us a fair shake and allow us the chance to play. Yesterday they were abyssmal-They treated Harvard as if they were not capable of taking any penalties. We got called for everything and put down 2 men for a long 1:51 that almost turned the game along with a late penalty that allowed HU to have 2 extra men for almost the last 2 minutes. Hopefully Kotyra and feola will surprise me tonight. They have been difficult on us in the past.

DrD, you're spot on... big game @ HFH. Dartmouth is much improved since our last meeting early in the season. Remember, they put Union into a 3-0 deficit just 10:10 into the first period. And they know how to play with a lead. Let's treat Dartmouth like they're the higher ranked team... they've played like a highly ranked team for the last month. GO RED!

Not to mentiion any objective person (of which I'm not when it comes to my beloved engineers) who was going to pick a coach today would be compelled to pick Keith Alain....OHHHHHH thats crazy lets go w/ the coach of our crosstown rivals !!!!!!!!!

I vote for our great coach - Seth Appert. Plays the game the right way, class act.

One thing that hasn`t been overly state yet is how bad Donato rides the Refs. I suppose you can`t blame him when it is working so well but my god. He seemed to be yelling at them everytime one was anywhere near the bench. Why the heck the refs just don`t turn to him and say if you don`t shut it your team won`t get another call all night is beyond me. But instead they listen to him like obiedient students. The officials in this league are just plain bad and their supervisor is worse. PATHETIC.

Hey RHam, I noticed during the second intermission that you had a video feed up on the board. Were you guys just testing your A/D converter and are looking to have the full game up on the monitor today?

OK-so CJ Lee is available tonight-how does SA tinker with the lines? We will need some size against Dartmouth-they camped out in front of the Union net all night. And a question-anyone know where I can find the +/- ratings for each of our defensemen as of today? It appears to me that some of the guys are on the ice for a good percentage of the goals against but cannot document it for myself.

Edit: Found the +/- stats. It appears to be rather even with the freshmen slightly behind-as expected. Cannot believe Chase Polacek is +15. That is just great for a forward.

Smith's out. Tinordi's been playing well, so I think he's earned his spot on the ice.

Hey Ed, Yea I am addressing you because you use the themes on this thread all the time. Leaman is not the Coach of the Year. Any guy who's bread and butter is the trap is not the Coach of the Year. You might want to quote me because people use my stuff in newspaper blogs all the time.

I disagree. Anyone who can take a program like Union's to the level he has deserves a great deal of credit. He gets good players to go there and makes them better while they are there; and he has built a winning program with a national reputation from almost nothing.

Although I hate to say it-I absolutely agree.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

My opinion is that we carried the play...in fact the first period looked like a 20 min.power play...that was until the refs (both) decided they would interject themselves into the game as usual...we could have very easialy won 5 zip we hit a cross bar and had a puck go across the goal line missing by inches take away the bonehead play #30 made and its 5 - 0...HOCKEY EAST or BUST !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Easy boy. Take a deep breath and some green tea.HE is not in the picture for rpi.

Sounds a lot like the guy at Yale. And oh yeah, they are #1 in the country. :p
