Also-if JFK is not exactly 100% or a tad rusty-that has to be a concern.
JFK's been without a cast since I think the 8th, and coach said he would've played on the 19th if it was a league game. So, I don't think that rust will be that much of an issue. He may not have recent game experience, but he's been playing / skating (I'm assuming that he's still able to skate with a hand injury) for at least a couple weeks by now.

I should have released that you were probably Jewish when I checked the online RPI directory to find out if you were female like your sister, since your handle disguises your name only slightly more than mine does.

I can't possibly be the only person who finds this to be one of the creepiest posts ever.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

I remember one year up at Cheel the CCT pep band came over and tried to start a fight with the RPI band. Im with the Dude on this, I wouldnt recommend sitting in the student section wearing red, your just asking for trouble. I also wouldnt expect much help from the mall cops if there is a problem either.

I wonder if Coach would be willing to put Burgdörfer on loan for a couple minutes... :D

Actually, Ralph tracked my real identity by looking up my age in my profile and then went through all the male births in Troy for that year.

On a side note, Jonathan Toews was hurt last night, will miss 2 weeks. Who knows, maybe Pirri gets a call up?

I don't think so. They just signed a Center in Dec. named Ryan Johnson that will fill the gap. They won't want to pay BP more than 65K.

EHF, I don't think you understood what I was saying. Of course Kennedy plays. We missed him dearly at Yale. Dolan, Koudys, Kennedy, Bailen, Foss and Bergin. This brings me to DrD question about who sits. It has to be Lebeouf. Lebeouf has not been clearing pucks well and has got caught chasing behind his own net a few times. He has not play as well as the others. That is not to say he will not be good long term (and been serviceable so far) but that is putting our best D-Corps out there IMHO. I would play Kennedy with Koudys but who the heck am I.

From the groundbreaking and hard hitting WaP twitter page "Defense: Bergin/Foss; Bailen/Dolan; Koudys/Kennedy. Leboeuf dresses as 7th defenseman."

And the lines:
Lee/Polacek/O'Grady; Brutlag/Higgs/Helfrich; Cullen/Malchuk/Angers-Goulet; Halpern and Burgdoerfer
which means the scratches are Beauregard, Malchuk, Rabbani, Rogic, Smith, and Tinordi.

You're not going to sit Dolan or Koudys. Both deserve to be in the lineup. Dolan played very well against US Junior team and BU.

Yes indeed. If Dolan keeps playing like he has, Seth will be hard pressed to sit him. That said, Bailen and Dolan make for a pretty small pairing...even though neither shy away from physical play.

That is absolutely terrific to hear. He has been a great presence behind the bench....

Not to mention it will make for a bit more room behind it. With Big Dana, three coaches and JFK, it was getting just a tad bit crowded...:D

Apologies is RB or someone beat me to this...there is a nice WJC Preview spread on USA and JDA in the current (1/3/11) issue of the THN. Nice inset photo of Jerry and several quotes inside the article.

I am going to commit an evil sin and repost this hear for the people who don't read the score update threads. This is discussing the poor quality of the B2/A1 stream, and replacing it with a much better, free RPI TV stream.

As always, thanks for the support!

We have been in a number of discussions with the athletics department and even a few members of the presidents cabinet about this, and we have really been stonewalled by the athletics department. They have signed this contract (without ever mentioning it to us; lasts until June 2012) and say that their hands are tied and they cannot allow us to stream. I have seen the contract, and know that this is not really true. The most frustrating part is that it seems I have been having to fight them to do this, even though I am confident that it would serve them better (the money they make is so small as to be inconsequential), and that it would work better and be more beneficial for the fans, parents, alumni, students, school and THEM!! I think we could easily get a thousand people watching every single game online, live, if we were to stream it.

We (meaning I, most likely) am going to ask if we (assuming we can get enough crew; I think we can) can stream the Clarkson / St. Lawrence games on Jan 7th and 8th. I will let everybody know how this goes, and if we can do it, or if I need everyones help to pass their support for RPI TV streaming to the athletics department. Maybe it will mean more coming from people other than me!

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

Tonight was not a good night to be an RPI skater. Scott Halpern went down (I didn't see the hit, or the aftermath) but he was on crutches after the game. Higgs got cut on the neck after being hooked down. According to Appert after the game during the alum meet and greet, Higgs is in stable condition at the hospital. He also stated that Vines missed the game because he was recruiting in Manitoba (let the speculation begin!!!!). While I was talking with JFK after the game, he said that Rogic and Rabbani would be replacing Halpern and Higgs (because they were the only two extras that made the flight).
