R u coming for the Clarkson game? I thought I read that someplace.

It doesn't look likely. I got tickets but haven't gotten around to doing anything else about it.

That is absolutely terrific to hear. He has been a great presence behind the bench, and now it will be great to see him on the other side of the boards once again.

Who do you sit down now that he is back? The defense has been superb in his absence. I too want to see JFK back but if I was the coach i would honestly not know how to work him back into the line up.

You go back to rotating the freshmen.

Here's a short video profile of JFK from the TWC news channel: Link

The freshmen have been great in his absence, but he is still better than all of them. I am sure that the coach has a plan. I don't think that it would be such a bad idea for a couple of the freshmen to sit and watch a game or two.
I just think that JFK makes us a better team on the ice. And with the experience that the others got in his absence will make us even better.
Lets drop the puck already.

I honestly would sit any defenseman that has difficulty with clearing pucks or putting screening forwards on their rear. No names mentioned, but I think you know where I'm going with this one.

You're not going to sit Dolan or Koudys. Both deserve to be in the lineup. Dolan played very well against US Junior team and BU.

They have both played extremely well, but neither defends as well as Kennedy. They are both freshmen and will certainly play in every game next year if they are healthy. But JFK gives us our best chance at winning.
He is our captain, and our best defender. Enough said.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

I would say that JFK is our most consistent defensive defenseman, but far from our best. Experience makes one consistent, but I think that all three freshmen have played better in some games than we have ever seen from JFK. Coming back from an injury, JFK may also not be playing at full strength. I do think that his leadership is worth a lot, however. I suspect that SA likes having these problems.

That is the thought I kind of was expecting and thinking myself. I think of defense as a chemistry-and right now it is working well. I want JFK in the line up-badly-I like his hard hitting attitude. I just do not know which of our boys deserves to sit and how disruptive it could be to the current excellent defensive flow we have seen. Also-if JFK is not exactly 100% or a tad rusty-that has to be a concern. Our defense could of course always improve-but it can be made worse with the wrong move also. That is why I posed the query. This is a tough one, and coach SA has a better feel for this than any of us and it will be interesting to see how he handles it.

What if we were to go only 11 forwards? I know we did that one game thus far this year. However, I think we have the same predicament there.

Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth

EHF, I don't think you understood what I was saying. Of course Kennedy plays. We missed him dearly at Yale. Dolan, Koudys, Kennedy, Bailen, Foss and Bergin. This brings me to DrD question about who sits. It has to be Lebeouf. Lebeouf has not been clearing pucks well and has got caught chasing behind his own net a few times. He has not play as well as the others. That is not to say he will not be good long term (and been serviceable so far) but that is putting our best D-Corps out there IMHO. I would play Kennedy with Koudys but who the heck am I.

Exactly-it is kind of a nice predicament-but a predicament none the less. Glad it isn't me deciding who sits. With this team playing well it is sure hard to break up the current flow. Any team that beats BU and ties the USA under 20 isn't doing too much wrong.
