Re: RPI MMXI III: Overanalyzing The Iron Men and Other Uses of Internet Bandwidth
Thanks for the thoughts. Colin did not back down from anyone-he took as many penalties as needed (and a few that were not necessary). Scammell had as hard a shot as I had seen up to that point in college. I cannot express the feeling that it brought out in those of us who were there to see the freshman class of 1965-66. That was the low point for the varsity of all the years I had followed RPI hockey and to see the talent coming in as freshmen was just inspiring. Unfortunately we lost Dale Watson this year but memories of these boys coming to RPI are still strong for those of us who were there in those days.
I don't disagee with this sentiment. I think both should have stayed if not for purely selfish reasons but I think they both will see big paydays. JDA's value was the highest it would ever be IMO. My time watching the team goes back to the late seventies and I think the 80s guys cashed out at the right time too after the National Championship (Oates I believe ran out of eligiblity). BTW- I was watching the US team practice with Red Cloud, Turk 181 and troyboy and tb told us the story about when he was in Catholic Grammar School in Troy how Rich Scammell and Colin Ingham were his gym teachers. I'm sure these names will bring back fond memories for you and the Ralphster. Actually tb and I are older then most of you may think because we don't act our age just our shoe size(leave that one alone FDude) As an aside, my best to you and Jenny for a lovely Holiday season. I always enjoy your takes and appreciate your kindness to me.
