Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

FlagDUDE was responding to my initial inquiry, in which I asked burgie12 as to why he felt that having a matchup between RPI and Princeton/Qpac on the second weekend of January 2014 was a poor draw. I wasn't referring to next weekend's matchup against those same two schools, even though it will also take place on the second weekend of January.
I was referring to the fact that it would be the first weekend of league play of the new year. In that sense, January 10-11th, 2014 is more akin to January 4-5th, 2013, than January 11-12th. It's not a huge loss, especially since HEA will reduce their league schedule to 20 games next season, and that should open some non-conference opportunities.

The past 2 years we had great seating at AC-and gave all the tickets away. This year we are delay8ingpurchasing seats-we have a wedding to go to and of course it has to be the same weekend. This one goes down to the wire.
First year I went to Ac to watch the games. I have been to ECAC playoffs 25 -30 times in the last 40 years RPI there or not. Last year we sold the tickets and did not go. This year I am like you - wait and see.

Jenny and I have a similar story. We were up at Lake Placid or in Boston every year-RPI or not. But we had to finally admit to ourselves that watching 4 other ECAC teams play just lacked too much for us. AC is a 45 minute drive for us-and even though the facility is horrible, we would try to be there for the games if RPI was involved. But the past 2 years, we knew early that they were not qualifying so the tickets went to people who really appreciated.

Whoops, missed that! Sorry Ryan!

The repeat did have the positive result that I googled it to find out its meaning which must have been in some long-unused memory cell. :)

Mine did include a link to the video :)

Ralph's colorblind and doesn't really notice in-line links.

Exactly. I have started using them myself sometimes since it makes posts less cluttered, but I miss them in others' poats unless I am looking for them. They could use a different color that I could see easier, but they don't. :)

You could always set your browser to override colour schemes. Or, use lynx to browse. :D

Fixing one thing usually hurts another. Although it still wouldn't stand out to the extent that it does to "normal" people, I would notice the color if the lines were thicker, i.e. a larger font or in bold.

I can thank my mother who was a carrierfor this and her father who had the same problem. Also both my mother's sister and her daughter were carriers of the gene since one of the latter's sons has the same problem. We don't know yet if my mother's sister's daughter's daughter is a carrier. She is the only close relative who could have that gene. She is currently a college soph.

Couldn't you just say your third cousin twice removed?

And if you don't go, at least the games are on TV this season. Fox Sports Atlantic (the same station that is broadcasting tomorrow nights game) will be showing the semis and finals.

BTW, for Part III, how about: Mission: Top 4??

I'm the fool at the games who stands up and yells 'Another goal for Milos!!!' while doing the 'celebration dance' at games when Bubela scores ;)

I didn't hear his name much.
Normally, a good thing for d-man, i.e. he wasn't getting blown by like a security guard at Walmart on Black Friday . Great experience for our young fellas...even in a loss.
