Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

Normally, a good thing for d-man, i.e. he wasn't getting blown by like a security guard at Walmart on Black Friday . Great experience for our young fellas...even in a loss.
The same comment about the name of a dman not being mentioned much is good was made re Parker Reno on the recruit thread. In that game I knew that Reno had a lot of ice time. Here I was trying to indicate (probably poorly) that he may not have gotten much ice time. I'll defer to those who watched the game or attended.

Most certainly a great experince. I should add that Jack Parker in an interview between periods 1 and 2 siad taht he liked playing RPI. He mentioned taht he and Buddy Powers reinitiated the series and it ahs continued and will continue. He liked playing us and also we are a lot easier to get to than Cornell and Colgate. (He didn't mention SLU and CCT. :D )

First cousin once removed, actually.

Correct. And she scored a goal today for Wesleyan vs. Middlebury. That's always worth a mention, although Middlebury, like they were when our women were D-III, still dominates.

RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part III: What if we DON'T finish last?

this one goes in the, "you're kidding, right", column. Fat Mike complaining about the WCHA officiating http://ndgoon.blogspot.com/2013/01/...sounds-off-on.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_

Turk, thanks for pointing out the hypocrisy of Mike. He failed to mention one of the reasons he won't play WCHA teams anymore is because there going to go to NCHC. What a chicken crap comment. Mark this day down where I defended the virtue of refs.

In defense of Mike, he adds credibility by discussing this topic, the refs in the WCHA are bad and most NCHC fans are holding their breath and hoping that the WCHA officials don’t get a chance to ruin our new league games. Also, the ECAC has an actual hockey person as it’s head of officials and the KHL thinks highly enough of him to employ him as a consultant. Consider yourselves lucky.

with all respect....we don't. Watch some of the league games....then get back to us.

He has a terrible track record of bias and lives off his NHL days. Plus, I still don't trust the commies in the KHL.

The following is an oldie but goodie I like to trot out from 1994 Sporting News anout NHL officiating.

"Ron Hoggarth got 10 votes as the league's worst referee. Denis Morel received five votes and Paul Stewart and Richard Trottier got two each. One said, "They're all bad."

Alright, we'll trade your officials for our officials and see how happy you are then.

Fat Mike complaining about officiating anywhere is about as predictable as the sun rising in the east.

DEAL. WHERE DO I SIGN.

It's good to know that others had similar reactions to mine about that video. I saw it linked earlier on eLynah. Whether or not Schafer was correct, his complaining about reffing is quite funny.
What will be interesting is to see if he is fined by the WCHA?

We can type up an agreement this week if you would like. Just for the Record, the WCHA commissioner office is on DU's campus. Word is that McLeod and George drink coffee together all the time.

Remember that I'm well aware of the officiating in both the ECAC and the WCHA - and by comparison, people in the WCHA have no idea how good they have it, believe me.

That was my impression also when we played SCSU.
