I think we had several back in the early to mid 1960's at HFH. I remember the Smothers Brothers being there and several of the rock groups and folk singers of the time.:)

Of course, this was before the whatever-the-heck-they-called-the-arena-in-downtown-Albany-at-whatever-time was built. ;)

It is my recollection that there were several every year. I think that there is a partial list in the blog that redaero mentioned recently.

I think the fact that he mentioned the 1960's, we could all deduce that it was before the Knick was built.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

it probably behooved the owners of HFH to sell to RPI.

When has RPI ever not owned the HFH?

Edit: It seems the only thing that the HFH moving from "Auxiliary Services" to Athletics means is which division's budget the HFH falls under. Auxiliary Services falls under the Administration Division, while Athletics falls under Student Life.

If you 'd like to see Parker Reno play, Edina's game tonight against Lakeville South will be streamed for free at MN Hockey Center.

There will also be a few other Edina games streamed online for free this season by Fox Sports North.

Greatly appreciated-tuning in for the 7PM start.

If? Not When? ;-)
I would love you to be right, but even under Harkness we weren't. We have never been to the tourney more than two years in a row. (Another reason to root against SCCC this year. ;) )

How true. We did not go all that often for sure-but before 1994 when we did go we seemed to do just fine-with a very respectable winning percentage.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

So, down to the nitty gritty about this team, and this coaching staff. Does anyone disagree that the next two weeks are critical for this team and this program? They have, once again, dug themselves a pretty deep hole after terrible performances at Union, Dartmouth and Harvard. They must:
1. Play well from the goal out in each of these next four games
2. Get at least 4 of the available 8 points, but preferably 5 or 6
3. Find some scoring from players other than the top line and Bailen
4. Get improved play from upper classmen like Lee, Tinordi and Dolan

They have had another week off to heal up some bumps and bruises, get some school work out of the way and continue the learning process with the freshmen. If they can build off the two wins against Mercyhurst and get on a bit of a roll, this team seems to have the talent to compete in the ECAC. Some positive results in the next two weeks could be a real confidence and momentum builder for this group, but they need contributions from more of the veterans. Lots to watch for in the next two weeks. I know there are some fans ready to write off another season already. I am of the opinion that this team is on the verge of putting it together and making a run towards the top-six finish most of us thought them capable of when this season began.

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part II: You Better Starting Posting the Engineer Way

According to the current USCHO poll, six ECAC teams are in the top 20 (and another one, St. Lawrence, would be in the top 25). If RPI is to finish sixth or better in the league, they are going to have to climb over a pretty good team or two.

Can it be that the ECAC has gotten better while we weren't looking?

It could just be that we're all doing better with the non-con play this year. After all, we're 3-1-2 in NC play, and it's our conference play that has brought us down.

Nope. We've all been looking. ;)

Correct. See http://www.collegehockeynews.com/reports/standings-interconf.php. (The USCHO page for the same thing http://www.uscho.com/stats/interconference/division-i-men/2012-2013/ is aligned wrong with incorrect decimal fractions for each league-vs.-league record.)
