I hope he makes a speedy recovery. A player from UAA had to hang the skates up this weekend after getting a second concussion.

FC12: I give full credit to coach Appert with this decision-the diagnosis of concussion is totally a clinical one. It really is open to interpretation and there are not any truly accurate specific tests that can say yay or nay. There are so many medical opinions about concussive disorders that you can find someone to recommend almost anything. Sitting out a week of practice and a weekend of games is a small price to pay for precaution. The boy has talent and is starting to hit his stride-I too just hope we get him back on the ice in the line up at full speed quickly. I would love to see some sort of film of the incident which might show the type of injury and the direction of the hit and the immediate response to the hit. That might add some information as to the possible severity. But without that, like everyone on here, I am just keeping fingers crossed.

a bad weekend for headshots for sure. I was surprised to read that this player from NMU played the next night. What do you think? Was this a clear headshot by Michigan's Jacob Trouba....http://www.westerncollegehockeyblog.com/2012/11/8/3619474/video-jacob-troubas-hit

It's interesting that they are still discussing Curadi's hit on Gostisbehere over on the Union thread even though both coaches stated that the hit wasn't malicious, etc., and Gostisbehere won't miss a game, yet the perpetrator of whatever caused Laliberte to miss the upcoming weekend's games has not even been mentioned. Perhaps it was a ghost. ;)

I noticed that. I also noticed that said bloggers continually fail to mention that the golden boy Hittee (5'10 170) HAD HIS HEAD DOWN when puckhandling in the vicinity of the Hittor (6'5 250). Hockey 101 -- last time I checked (pun intended). In fact at the next level, if you fail to make that hit, you'll be benched/cut, etc... :p

Me make false accusations about the team? Why don't you eat your own words. You accused rvd5star69 of leaking from the room. I know rvd5star69 enough to know he doesn't get access to the room. Therefore, by the law of disjunctive inference, he gets information from somewhere else. Could he be pulling it out of his ***? It's within the realm of possibility, but I believe it to be improbable enough to rule out for the time being. Therefore, what's left?

I can understand why you would believe that I thought this was about me, after all I did reply, but I am not going to see rvd5star69 be accused of misinformation, whether probable, certain, or whatever combination of adjectives and adverbs you wish to use, especially considering in the past couple years that I have seen him post on here, he has consistently provided truthful information. The reports remain his words, and they always have. I'm disappointed that this argument has blown this far out of proportion.

You're making things up now to deflect. WHERE IS YOUR PROOF THAT PLAYERS REVEAL INFORMATION ABOUT INJURIES? This is now the 3rd or 4th time I've asked for your proof and you go all obtuse on the subject once again. ANSWER THE QUESTION. You won't b/c you can't; I won't play your little deflection game. Don't bother responding unless it's with your evidence; otherwise you prove my point. You're dismissed.

Unbelievably, my son has a hockey game at the same time as the Harvard game this weekend so I'm going to miss this game for the first time in a while.

I'm not sure what "bubble" tea is but I wonder if the "bubble" is an infuser? For those of you looking for food in Harvard Square, let me suggest John Harvards: https://www.johnharvards.com/ If anyone with a car gets in early enough, I can recommend a few other spots that are in the area. Among my favorites are: Redbones in Davis Square, The Miracle of Science in Central Square, The Cambridge Brewery in Kendall Square and The Sunset Grill & Tap in Allston (which is actually the part of Boston that Harvard's rink is in). The first 3 are all in easy walking distance from T stations on the red line (which runs west to east in the following order: Davis Square - Porter Square - Harvard Square - Central Square - Kendall Square). The Sunset Grill is about a 5 minute drive from the arena (but about an hour by the T).

All 5 places are great watering holes with great food.

Thanks for the suggestions I was looking for a good place to try! :D

Don't anyone hit Lali in the head shhhhh he's concussed babo

Re: RPI Hockey 2012-2013 Part 1: Pocket Protectors and Hockey Sticks

That was a rough looking hit for sure. Was he headhunting, its tough to say.

Just watched the video-pretty good hit from my viewpoint. The real danger with these contact sports is often not the hit itself-it is the injury to the contralateral side of the head from hitting the ice or the boards. In my experience the most dangerous effect of this kind of contact is the formation of a subdural hematoma on the oposite site of the hit. I have performed countless examinations of injured people (sports, car accidents, falls) over the years and I just neve feel comfortable with giving them clearance. I have seen so many of these case appear fine on examination even hours after the event-only to develop severe involvement hours to days later. You can only examine so much-the five senses of course, but also balance, memory, pain, even loss of feeling. It's just a part of medicine that we wish we could know and do more.

Wow, stud...you showed me...but my point is proven: he's not on the ice and the staff (not you) wasthe source. But you taught me a lesson...I cannot penetrate that which is impenetrable...go spout off all you want...it's a free country.

After last weekend's performance, I don't want to start a score thread and I suspect that fr joe doesn't either. Does anyone feel lucky? :)

Looking forward to getting out to Thompson and Bright rinks this weekend and seeing if we play "Engineer hockey" as SA mentions. Dartmouth will be sure to pepper our net and give us everything we can handle playing in their barn. Hoping the Harvard game does not go the way it did 2 years ago, when I attended that one, and we lost with 8 seconds left in the game after playing a very strong game. Wonder if the Pep Band is making the trip?

3-3 tie. RPI was up 3-0 entering the 3rd. Louis Leblanc tied it with 2.2 secs remaining.... alone in front. Nuff said.
