Agreed. She could win those two awards almost any given week, and maybe that's the problem...voters now expect her to go beyond what she has already done.

Agree. She has done a remarkable job for the team this year. She is a pleasure to watch. I do agree that she is being shortchanged. Her teammates know how valuable she is and the opponents are starting to know what they are up against. That does buy you points!

From the RPI directory adding to Meg Hayes already mentioned here.

Name: Katarina M. Seper
Class: First-Year Student
Curriculum: Biology

BTW, I wonder if the fact that 3 defensemen are arriving in the fall and only 2 are graduating means that we have given up on Heidi Niskanen playing again. It could also mean that Ana Orzechowki has permanently switched to forward.

It was a post made a while back, that they would be moving a D to forward. Just wasn't 100% sure which one. Page 9 or so, should have linked it

I realized that it linked to an earlier post. I thought that you were trying to say which D was being moved to forward. I guess it is AO then.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

Struggling to find something good to say about RPI's 2-0 win over Union today. They played well enough to beat the worst team in the NCAA...there...I said it.

However, there are always some positives to find in every game, and I like to find them rather than dwell on the negatives. 1) Another shutout for Selander, and many would say that shutting out Union is no big deal but they did have 28 SOG's tonight and some of them were quality; 2) Really nice play on the second goal...Horwood to Thomas; 3) Nice to see Orzechowski get some ice time and I thought she worked really hard and showed a lot of desire out there.

And now for the negatives....no, I won't go there. Hopefully a different RPI team will show up tomorrow.

Could it be that they are like our men's team -- playing to the level of the opponent?

Has AO been mostly warming the bench since moving up to forward? She looked like she was a forward when she played D at the beginning of the season so I think forward is definitely where she belongs. I don't see her being moved back to D again. Sometimes a player gets played where they are less of a liability until they improve, get into better shape, or something like that.

Yes, she has seen only limited ice time until yesterday.

Seems to be the case. Their performance against the top 10 or 12 teams has been very strong this year. But they need to beat Union again today and Brown next week to stay in the playoff hunt, because all of the other teams have been feasting on those two.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

I thought the Engineers had a little more jump in their game today. Shots were actually 33-32 in favour of Union but RPI seemed to pretty much control throughout. All 3 goals (Rooney, Gruschow, Horwood) were smart plays and Selander made it look easy again. Union looked better than I expected, certainly didn't look like a team that is still looking for their first win. Their biggest problem today was that their defensive box gave RPI much too much time and space to move the puck around, not only on PP but 5 on 5 as well. A very spirited and entertaining game (seems that these two teams don't really like each other a lot :p).

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

Just learned that Jordan Smelker was named to NWHL all-star game. Jordan never got as much recognition as she deserved when she played for RPI...so many of the NCAA awards and honours seem to be based primarily on stats, so strong two-way players are often overlooked, but I always thought that she was one of the top forwards in the ECAC.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

Woo, a four-point weekend! Anything less than that against Union would have been a massive disappointment. We need to keep it going and take four points against Yale and Brown this weekend.

RPI KRACH (RRWP): 53.08 (.3871)

MCTs (Mean/Median/Mode/Range):
Points - 18.65 / 19 / 18 / 12 - 31
Rank - 8.64 / 9 / 10 / 1 - 11
Playoffs (Home) - 42.0% (0.1%)
Most likely opponent - at Quinnipiac (22.9%)

Conference rankings:
  1. Quinnipiac
  2. Clarkson
  3. Princeton
  4. Colgate
    —————
  5. Harvard
  6. SLU
  7. Cornell
  8. RPI

  9. Yale
  10. Dartmouth
  11. Brown
  12. Union
