That's pretty cool! I wish I would have seen one of those from Minnesota a couple years ago when Kelly Terry was here......esp "SQUAT" :)

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

Really hard to see what you mean

If you click on the picture twice it gets larger although it still isn't completely readable. The women hockey players mentioned at least once are Schwalbe, Selander, Raspa, Tomlinson, Kimmerle (2x), Horwood (4x), Hylwa (3x), Behounek, Rooney, Till (2x), Godin, Gruschow (6x, all categories), and Mankey.

Thanks that works. Curious those all time records or just the current year? Too lazy to check the rosters

It must be the current year since all the RPI hockey players are listed with their current classes. I didn't check any of the athletes in other sports.

The hockey team has a disproportionate number of players listed compared to the other women's sports, but this probably should be expected considering that hockey is RPI's only D-I sport. It would be interesting to see the men's list too, but undoubtedly there would be a lot of football players in the strength lists.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

Biggest weekend of the season for the Engineers and the only weekend when I will not be able to watch them play :(. Good luck, I hope to be able to check in on scores from time to time, and I know, from having watched this team develop, that they are ready for this challenge. Have fun.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

from the on-line RPI directory

Name: Sabrina E. Repaci
Class: First-Year Student
Curriculum: Undeclared Engineering

Meg Hayes and Katarina Seper were previously noted as being in the directory.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

Three points was huge, but unfortunately not enough to clinch. I suppose being in 7th is nice, but I would have much rather had Yale beat Cornell, have a playoff berth clinched, and be headed to Quinnipiac. Instead, we could still fall out and we're more likely to go to Potsdam. Gross. All that said, we have a very tough road weekend ahead of us. Three points would guarantee a playoff berth, regardless of whatever else happens. Getting swept would put us at about 20% to miss the boat.

RPI KRACH (RRWP): 61.94 (.4170)

MCTs (Mean/Median/Mode/Range):
Points - 20.66 / 20 / 20 / 20 - 24
Rank - 7.59 / 7 / 7 / 6 - 9
Playoffs - 86.6%
Most likely opponent - at Clarkson (48.8%)

Conference Rankings:
  1. Quinnipiac
  2. Clarkson
  3. Princeton
  4. Colgate

  5. Harvard
  6. SLU
  7. RPI
  8. Cornell

  9. Yale
  10. Dartmouth
  11. Brown
  12. Union

As I had hoped and expected, the Engineers were definitely ready for their big weekend and came away with 3 points against Harvard/Dartmouth. Incredibly they are still not guaranteed a playoff spot, sitting tied for 6th with only two games left and a .500 record. Their final two games are about as tough as they get: road games at Quinnipiac and Princeton. Dartmouth cannot catch RPI now, but the Engineers still have to finish ahead of either Cornell or Yale to make it. If RPI were to come away with 3 points or more (a huge challenge) they would be in the playoffs.
If they earn 2 points Cornell would need to beat both Dartmouth and Harvard (a distinct possibility) to tie RPI in points, but RPI would win the tie-break because of two wins over Cornell. However, if there is a 3 way tie (which would be the case if Yale gets 1 point against Clarkson or St. Lawrence) it gets really complicated because you would need to go to additional tie-break criteria. Looks like RPI gets in if they get their 2 points with a win over QU or PU, but not if they get their two points with 2 ties.
If RPI gets only one or zero points in their final weekend there are all kinds of possibilities too numerous to list, but basically they have to depend on Cornell not having a strong final weekend.
I did not include St. Lawrence in this analysis even though they are currently tied with RPI, on the assumption that SLU will beat Brown to clinch a playoff spot ahead of the others. I started trying to figure out the combinations of outcomes if SLU stumbles but my head started to hurt.

Just before reading this post I was doing my own figuring as to how the ECAC would end up next weekend. This is the exact finish I expect.

I was hoping Harvard would avoid a third consecutive road trip but it looks likely that they will be heading back to Hamilton for the first round. I don't see Princeton or Quinnipiac stumbling as their national rankings would take a hit (especially Princeton - they are right on the edge). That leaves only a weekend sweep by Harvard and Dartmouth beating Colgate as the way into the top four. Not very promising.

A little surprised not a single freshman in first.

Nice weekend

I think that if Harvard wins both (Colgate and Cornell) and Colgate bests Dartmouth, then both Colgate and Harvard would have the same # of points at 29. The tie breaking procedure is first of all head to head match ups and Harvard would have won both of them. This is how I think it works.

Yep, that is how it works. Head to Head and then record against top 4

I was thinking about that and moreover the trend to more hockey players listed in the higher classes. I certainly don't have any inside information, but it might be the fact that with hockey being RPI's only D-I sport, there is more "hitting the weight room" by hockey players than others. What would be interesting is to see the chart yearly. If there are many more hockey players when the Class of '19 are seniors, I would think I have a point. If not, then that class just isn't that strong.

Burke's off-season fitness program for his girls has always been quite demanding, so I think that a lot of them make great strides not just during the freshman year but also during their first summer season. Watch this year's freshmen next fall.

Re: RPI Engineers '15-'16

As this season moves into its final weekend before playoffs I just want to thank everyone who has posted here. We have had quite a range of opinions on the RPI program, as always, but it has been an informative and respectful interaction at all times. There is an incredible passion around RPI hockey (men's and women's) and that has been reflected here. Only two team threads on the women's side have garnered more posts than us, and those are the two dominant western teams, Minny and Wisco, who for very good reason have a passionate following. No matter what happens next weekend and in the playoffs, I have to say that this has been the most exciting RPI women's team ever.

She has had the biggest impact on the team's improvement this year and is a slam dunk for the team's MVP award at the end of the season. Congrats to her. Well deserved.
