RPI 2024 Off-Season: Was 2023 – 2024 Just a Bad Dream?

Apologies if already covered, but according to the Schlossman transfer tracker, some former players have found new teams:

Lauri Sertti to AIC
Danny Ciccarello to NMU
John Evans to Lindenwood

Wishing them the best of luck next season!

I’m sure resources and support are a joke for both programs. Let’s be honest both programs are irrelevant in their conference and even more so on the national stage. I could be wrong but when our great coach Dave smith was hired from powerhouse canisius I thought alumni and supporters were complaining to the Troy record and idiot lee McElroy that the hockey programs are not funded properly and they wanted a say in the next head coach? Idk I’ve lost track of how many promises the school has made to fans alumni etc only to be disappointed. Good news is Dave has scheduled a bunch of Atlantic hockey teams this year to save his job. At least we have that to look forward to

+1

Good to see that these three have found new homes.

Ding Ding Ding Post of the Year Winner !!!

But Lily Hevesh left RPI after her freshman year. :D

I guess I can't keep up with Ralph and the social media influencers, because I had to search for Lily Hevesh. I had no clue who she was or why she was a relevant to college hockey.

You must have figured it out since you didn't ask. I mentioned her because the post I quoted discussed dominos falling. I am pretty sure that she was mentioned here when she was at RPI which I see from her Wikipedia page wasn't even a whole year.

Yes, I figured it out. My first reaction was to wonder if she was an obscure player on the women’s team that I’d just forgotten. After I saw her unique skill your response (and bolding) made more sense.

Major Jr. hockey player filed an antitrust lawsuit against the NCAA. Interesting mix of schools noted -- some haves and have nots. Given the NCAA's losing streak of late, i have to think this is the next domino that will fall.

Seems like a fairly low-risk settlement and rule change is available here, at least from the NCAA's perspective. I don't follow junior hockey with any sustained attention, so I won't guess about the potential effects there if this player was given eligibility.

Well said

Based on the financial resources and support provided to Coach Vines and his program by RPI (compared to the men), fans and the administration have NOTHING to complain about.

Great post. So true. A lot of ppl come on here and tell me what a great job the new AD is doing, I don't see it. Her only D1 programs are starved for resources.
