10 rounds in USHL draft and no RPI prospects picked. To quote, Engineers, lol
If things couldn’t get any more bizarre with RPI hockey rumors are women’s assistant coach Ben Murphy heading to Dartmouth joining Reid Cashman’s staff. I guess we didn’t need him on the mens side? We have better assistants on the women’s side then men’s side apparently lol
To me this all reeks of issues in the department as a whole.

On the men’s side, David Quinn and Dave Hakstol recently became available. Perhaps one of those two could be hired to turn the RPi program around.
No pleasure just not a enabler. Clearly you don’t know what you’re talking about regarding Murphy. He’s a very good recruiter who consistently had good recruits come to Bentley of all places. He also won a ecac title I believe at st Lawrence. Anyone who’s been following college hockey knows Dartmouth is on the rise lead by an excellent coach in Reid Cashman. Cashman would not bring on Murphy if he was not a good coach. Minimizing Murphy shows you have no idea what you’re talking about. I think the athletic department is doing a great job with success across most programs. Until thing’s change with hockey it’s going to be negative. If you can’t handle that that’s your problem not the people who post on this forum. I think we could have used Murphy on the mens side.Do you take some sort of perverse pleasure zfrom constant negativity? Murphy was fired from Bentley (where he'd been for 11 years over 2 undistinguished stints) when they cleaned house last year. He couldn't find another men's position so he took a late appointment for what was clearly in his mind a temporary gig with our women's team. He's now going to be a third assistant at Dartmouth, hardly a powerhouse appointment. He may be a decent coach - I think our women's team definitely improved this year - but his moving on to Hanover really says nothing, positively or negatively, about our men's program, women's program or the athletic department as a whole.
What is the point of these posts? Like it or not, we clearly are not changing coaches for next season, much less luring former NHL coaches that also had success at some of the biggest college programs to Troy. Why not really shoot for the moon? I half expect someone to say "Well, Scotty Bowman isn't dead yet - let's get him."
Edit: It may be that 25+ years was being sarcastic and I just missed it.......
Yes sir I agreeTo me this all reeks of issues in the department as a whole.
He’s been around the men’s game for a while. Good coachPrior to his brief stop in Troy, his previous work experience was on the men's side.

The USHL draft which went 10 rounds was the Phase 1 or Futures draft. It was only for players born in 2008. We don't have any known prospects born in 2008, so obviously none were drafted. We could have had known prospects drafted in the Phase 2 draft which went 24 rounds, but indeed we didn't.
Even worse. So bad.
