Does anyone know what the video coverage of RPI games will be this year, for folks outside the US? Last year there were separate links for ESPN (US) and international, but on the womens games, so far, it only shows an ESPN link. If I subscribe to ESPN will I get coverage of men's and women's games in Canada? And if not, is there anywhere that I can get video coverage from Canada?

Although only an exhibition today, will be very interested in this game to see what the many line up changes will show us. UMass is a fairly highly rated HE team and we all remember how we did last year in the early OOC part of the season against the HE teams. Go Red!!!

I don’t think ESPN+ is available in Canada unless you use a VPN.
On the ECAC website there is a link to stretch internet for international viewers.

Got to the game today. RPI played very well. Muzzatti out injured but he did warm up. Tonelli left in the first period. Thought all the freshman looked solid, Bourgault made an impact in the bottom 6. Loved the way we moved the puck, they won the SOG battle by give or take 10. Watson and Giesbrecht split the game, and both were good. Thought Jeremie Payant was noticeably improved and had numerous breakaways. Let's see where they go from here, but I was encouraged

Went to the game today. So very early, only one game and an exhibition on top of it, but I thought freshman #44 Brody Macguire stood out, seemed to move well with the puck.

Caron scored a nice goal in the shootout which was added on after the OT, perhaps because it was an exhibition game.

Interesting that football is in the thread title, and no one posted about the game. :D

Maybe we are going back to RPI sport in the 1960's --- hockey wins and football loses.

i am usually the one who writes something about the football game but was not around for most of the weekend. A loss to Rochester though is not something to inspire putting up much. We were 10 point favorites (which I could not understand as Rochester has been undefeated and playing very well) but we still were driving for the tie touchdown when a pass got tipped and intercepted. Could be a difficult season as we seem to not have the running game we have had for the Just not moving the ball on the ground is making it very difficult for our very good passing game to by the time for our quarterback who is seemingly always under pressure but still completing a lot of passes for a lot of yardage.past many seasons.

Could not follow much at all about the hockey game and simply read what others posted. Still unsure how we ended up winning. Did we score an OT goal? Or did we have to go to a shootout and won that way? Does appear though that we played a much better game than what we showed early last season - shame it was only an exhibition and the statistics do not count in any way. But it certainly raises hopes for now at least.

Beaton scored in OT and the fans seemed to clear out but for some reason the benches didn't empty. They did a shootout round where Caron scored and Giesbrecht made a stop. It was a bit weird and confusing

What media coverage can we expect for next weekend? The girls play 2 with Syracuse and only one is being listed on ESPN+ while our guys hav e 2 out at Canisius with neither game listed except on FloSports which I avoid like the plague. Will there be any streaming audio coverage?

It was an exhibition. The box score says Beaton's goal won the game. I'll bet there was an agreement between the coaches to play the shootout so each team got some experience with it. I wonder if they would have played a 3 on 3 even if the teams weren't tied.

Even though it doesn't count I feel good about the game. Did we hold a team as good as UMass to one goal in any game last year? Defense and goaltending will decide our year. So far so good.

Edit: Looking again at the box score, I'm really impressed that Watson only faced 12 shots through two periods. After last season's torrent of rubber he must have been wondering if he'd died and gone to heaven. UMass turned things up a bit through the 3rd and OT, but at least Giesbrecht held the fort (with the help of some iron according to the game thread). Still a net positive.

Some early odds for next week. Football we are a 20 point favorite over SLU in spite of now having lost 3 games in this early season. Men's hockey against Canisius is called even for both games. The girls are a slight 0.5 goal favorite over Syracuse. Really tough to understand the odds this early in the season and I suspect they are a bit related to last year's performance.

Thanks for the help JBGoode441. That link did not seem to provide anything that solved the problem. Yes, Stretch was the place to go last year, and hopefully it will work this year. But I find it odd that neither the men's nor women's schedules provide a link for international viewers the way that they did last year. It is not just an RPI issue...seems to be a problem on other teams' schedules. I still haven't found a way to watch either a men's or women's game this year :(.

RPI's chances of finishing on top of the Liberty League weren't all that great to begin with, and took a serious hit with last weekend's loss to the U of R.

But to find good news where we can, St. Lawrence beat Union in football this past weekend. If RPI can beat the Saints at home this weekend, it seems as though the Engineers will have a good chance to recover the Shoes this November.
