I just noticed that DrD and I among many others have passed their 25th anniversary on this forum.
Today is 1 October 2024. There are 5 days until RPI's next game.
This is based upon 6 October 2024 for the start of next season.
Penalty for double posting - 5 post penalty and repeat 1st post.![]()
Our first game is 5 days from now. Although listed as an exhibition I would have thought we would see some posting about the game and some predictions about our chances. I suspect we will see lots of extra guys suited up and perhaps we can skate more than 4 lines, play 4 sets of defense and see a different goalie for each period. This one does not count for anything and is a good chance to see what we might have and what combinations work better together.
I guess we will not have a streaming video for this one.
I am thinking about buying the hockey streaming package for this season. (Just thinking.) Can someone post the details or tell me where to look?
Thanks for bumping the conversation Doc.... I am tempted to take a run over to the gamexhibition on Sunday. But if the weather stays as nice as its been, I'll be hard pressed to not be in the High Peaks!

If you are talking about the ESPN+ stream -they raised their prices (again) for this year. You purchase a monthly subscription or an entire year for a slight discount. I believe the year cost is $109 but not totally sure. Since the only thing I would purchase this for is RPI hockey, and now I find several of the games are NOT included (anything on Flosports which some schools have deals with), i am holding the line. Jen and I pick and choose the games we want to see, head out to our local pub which has had the subscription, and have watched about 50% of the games (for free) while enjoying a meal and a few drinks.
The broadcast itself is not bad but you have to remember it is not like the old RPI TV productions. This past weekend for example, the broadcast came on 1 minute late - and we missed the opening goal scored against our girls at the 18 second mark. Last year there were several times where the broadcast did not start on time but I do not recall if we missed any scoring or not. It might help for you to look ahead on our scheduled games and see exactly how many games are definitely being broadcast. Just my opinion of course.
