RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

Re: RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

Just back to find out that we lost a tough one-outshooting them by a large margin but just could not get the goal to tie. Question? We now sit in PWR at about 19 or 20. Just out of curiouslity-and i am not good at this at all-how much of a difference woudl the 1/26 game with Union at Albany have made if we did not get that last minute call by the ref and ended in a tie instead of a loss? Would that make any difference in our PWR standing or is it now not enough to make much difference. One bad call should not make the season end so easily and i truly hope that it did not.

I'm not very good at this stuff either, but when I went to CHN customize the pairwise page and flipped the loss to Union to a tie with Union it looks like it would have you guys at 15th in the pairwise.

DrD - one call doesn't matter. Plenty of opportunities against a marginal Brown team, and they didn't execute. :(

For certain that is true-you can get beat even without being outplayed. i was just wondering how much that one call way back may have mattered now that we have finished all our league games. We had lots of other chances all year and lots of late calls. But it would be shameful if that call on bailen in a game that meant little or nothing in league standings comes back to haunt us. if I knew how to figure it out i would do it-I leave that sort of thing to the young math studs we have. I suspect it meant nothing-but i just don not know.

If that is true-and i trust you are correct-what a shame.:(

Doc, I am still looking at the bright side. Core guys are underclassmen. They turned a possible diaster into something special during the run. TB and I were hoping to come down to AC to see you and Jenny. All my best.

We will get together-next year at Princeton or sooner. The program is improving and it did take longer than expected but we are getting there.

A sad end to a marvelous season. Yes, I know it's not technically over yet, but I'm not going to worry about 10 things going our way for us to make the NCAA's. One has to wonder how game goes if Bailen could have played... Tonight is not the night to dream about the future of this program.

Unless there's a bug in my PWR calculator, RPI reaching the NCAAs is not hard to imagine. If the favorites win out, RPI ends in 16th.

*ML

I HATE BROWN

****sucking captain is a thug

Refs clearly show their ivy league bias once again

I'm only typing like this because I'm ready to throw the computer across the room

And no, a 2.5 hour drive did NOT help...

Re: RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

I'm still surprised Brown's Captain was allowed to play today. He injured our best D-Men and top playmaker and get's to play the following night? Ridiculous. I had to witness what happened and it was blatant kneeing as he wasn't making a turn or anything. Luckily Bails is walking, but there is probably no way that if we do make the tournament that he will be able to play. And that man, Robertson, was on ice for all three of Brown's goals and got an assist on the first goal. Disgraceful. Oh well, Borelli brought his A-game tonight and didn't let anything easy through as RPI brought their A-game as well. Unfortunately, Kasdorf didn't and it cost us in the end. While the second goal was arguable, the other two should not have happened. No rebound control tonight and he couldn't glove the puck properly either. Probably due to nerves, but he was not playing like we are used to seeing him play. Whether we will see more of the Engineers this year or not, it has been a great run. Let's Go Red!

Yeah, I have gotten us as high as 13th with all favorites winning except Mercyhurst beating UConn and Brown beating Union in the consolation game. It's not that farfetched, but it won't be easy.
