RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

Re: RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

Hey Alaska 88 are you an Alaska fan or an 88 alum?

I can't believe we need Union to lose twice to have a shot at getting in!

JM-I wonder if we would still need those 2 losses if we tied them at the TUC in Albany on 1/26? That last minute goal against us might just be the dagger this year after all.

I'm from Alaska, so I suppose I do root for Alaska and UAA, but I graduated from RPI in 1988 with a B.S. and in 1990 with a M.S. So I cheer for the Engineers ahead of the Seawolves and Nanooks.

We are 18th in PWR at the moment. If that game ended in a tie we would be 15th and could survive a Union win although maybe not two of them.

Just something else i can blame on Kotyra-thankfully we will not have him next year for any games.

If Mark McGowan didn't score on December 27th, we'd probably be completely out by now.

Thank god the AC nightmare is ending this year. I'm watching it on TV and it looks like there are about 200 people in the crowd. What an utter joke. I've seen more fans for youth hockey tournaments. I know we've all said it before but whoever made this decision should be fired. I'm watching HE games at the same time and thinking... what hot shot kid would ever pick the ECAC over Hockey East?

JM: What is a true indication of how bad the decision was-each year we had tickets-and each year we gave them away since RPI was not going to be there. It has gotten progressively more difficult to find anyone who is willing to make use of the tickets each year. We have a home 45 minutes from the rink-and we don't want to go and would have preferred Albany over this anytime.

Especially when you flip to the Hockey East and WCHA tournaments and see near capacity crowds in NHL buildings

whoever on live stats earlier "flubbed" by declaring the union-yale game 4-0 before it started seriously needs to go into betting on games...

Re: RPI 2013 Part V: Who Wants Screech?

well, it looks like that wraps things up for this year. while it sucks to see the seniors go like this, definitely have a lot to look forward to next year. Sophomores have found their groove, juniors are ready to step up as leaders, Kazzie in net, and the Freshmen now have a better feel of how the game is to be played. Not happy to go out like this, waiting our fate, but I feel like next year we will better lock in our own fate. And if someone finds some miraculous way that we can still get a bid into the playoffs, good job, because I spent the last half hour trying every different combination and none worked for us. Let's go Red!!!
