You done? As I stated in an earlier post, only time will tell. From my experience, when Seth Appert had control of who was being recruited, we've done well.
Just sit back and enjoy the hockey, and take your own advice from the last sentence in your post I quoted above.

agreed
before we start slandering graduates and very good players of the program, we should at least let others dress a game and produce before we start claiming they are upgrades

Good luck this weekend....

hope we continue from last year and make the capital district a difficult place for visiting teams

Re: RPI 2011-12 Season: Posts on a Message Board

Please, please, please let us join HE so I can watch us beat up on the unsuspecting Eagles and Terriers in 2013. I've loved watching Merrimack take it to those guys the last couple of years and can only imagine how much more fun it will be if RPI can do the same.

I said it would be fun if they can do it nd that I expect them to be a very good team by 2013. That's foolish huh? Exhibit B.

LOL. Nice backtracking. You didn't say "it would be fun". You must have loved Merrimack "taking it to" BC in last year's HE championship game, eh? As I said, RPI can be a good, competitive team in HE, but stop with the nonsense. Exhibit B...of?

I would wait and see who plays before yapping

You would wait and see, except you can't keep yourself from yapping. At least you recognize that you can't help yourself. Congratulations, you are progressing from infant to toddler.

Re: RPI 2011-12 Season: Posts on a Message Board

waste of tme arguing with them. lets stick to the facts
LC had least points and worst +/- over last 35+ games on junior team last year. Even with the game sheets changed at beg still was not top 4 in +/- or points Now we are to believe that is an upgrade? My only annoyance was the blatant manipulation of points and was amazed how it immediatly stopped, 9 in 11 games, 2- 2nd assists in next 50

I love it how they have no issues with people dissing 4 year varsity players, guys who helped make this a "program on the rise" but lose their minds if someone points out something about another D

It is not an upgrade. I would wait and see who plays before yapping
I said I disagree with him but I didn't day I agree with you on Luke. Besides... it's not the Frosh D that replace JFK and Foss. It's last's years guys who are one year further developed. I'm cheering for Luke like all the other RPI fans but I don't expect him to jump in as a Freshman and be a force. Which makes him no different that most other freshmen D.

The more time goes by, the more I start to wonder whether Hokydad is one of those fellows that needs to alert the police and his neighbors when he moves to a new neighborhood.

Perhaps he only needs to alert the ranchers?

I go out for three hours bike riding and I am over a page behind. I can guess who is here. Without reading what he said, I will add to the conversation that JFK was cut by an ECHL team yesterday -- Curadi is an improvement.

Now to read if that is relevant. :)

And the Troy Record has their RPI Hockey preview posted online, as well: http://troyrecord.com/articles/2011/10/07/sports/doc4e8f18a6da962611632651.txt

In his lists of the pros and cons of going to HE, Weaver listed that travel to the HE is easier. Just curious from people who have been to most/all of the rinks, is this correct? Is SLU and Clarkson (which is one trip) harder to get to than Orono? Colgate and Cornell are off the main road, but so is UVM and I guess Dartmouth. Opinions. I assume that he wasn't counting Notre Dame.

Relax. We have "take"n it to Capt Jack and his gang at times and no reason to think we won't have our share of good games against BC. Why don't we officially join and then you can start your trash talk.

Ha, you should probably direct the "relax" comment at the other guy. I'm not sure where you've been for the past 10 years, but BU isn't BC. Anyway, yes, you've competed well against them--congrats. I even agree that BC and RPI would probably have some good, competitive games. Problem is, that's not what he said. I didn't start the trash talk either. So, you might want to take this up with him.

Ralph, yes HE is easier. I've been to every HE/ECAC rink except Notre Dame. Every HE arena is close to a major highway, and you have many more schools in a compact area. Orono is a long trip mileage-wise, but it doesn't require nearly the same amount of backroads driving that the North Country does. It is also convenient that you don't have to deal with NYC area traffic, which tends to slow everything up.

Thanks. Chalk up one to Weaver.

The compactness isn't too important, since we probably will only visit at msot two on any trip.

So until a few months of the season pass and there are actually Pairwise Rankings to speak of, is it safe to assume that we want the teams we play later in the season to do well and the teams we don't play to do poorly?

So WaP didn't give us a cheering section (it being the first week and all). Is it safe to assume that we want the teams we play later in the season to do well and the teams we don't play to do poorly?

The "cheering section" was used to tell us which teams have the best chance in improving our RPI and PWR. In general, we want not only us to win (obviously), but we also want ECAC teams to win in their non-conference games, as well as any team we happen to be playing in a non-conference game, as it would help our Common Opponents ranking.

So, in short, root for an ECAC sweep.
