Excellent game.

One note for babo (I believe that was you?) - we don't throw pucks that go in the stands back on the ice, we Give it to the Kid! (see First Church Commandment #8) ;)

They probably do that in the lower levels. I know whenever there was a high school baseball or softball game back where I grew up, they only had 2 or 3 balls, and just had someone grab it and bring it back if it went out of play.

Haggerty is just plain out good. I think he is as good or better than JDA at this stage (no joke). JL hangs on that weak side looking for the puck around the crease. Similar to Pirri around the net but does not handle the puck as much as BP did behind the net. Zach...Wow!!!! Curadi has skills that our terrific for a big man, of course his presence is intimidating. Diebold, he is quick and no wasted motion. He is much more technical goalie than Allen (Scotty, great job). Neal...Real Deal!!! We have more skill players than we have had for a long, long time.

Not a bad start for the team...but let me stress its just a start....Acadia was what you would expect out of a team from Canada...rough, somewhat limited skill wise and nothing like the New Brunswick team we saw last year. Haggerty looked like a man on a mission last night and hope he keeps it up the entire season...not sure about his injury that he took late in the game. This team will be fun to watch and will get an early in season test right off the bat next weekend with MSU-Mankato.

On a side note, AspyDad is like the mayor of Section 9...all the important folks come see him in between periods.

AD, I agree with everything you said after one game. Problem is, it is only one game against a questionable opponent.
I will be at the field house on Friday night to watch them do the same thing to a real college hockey team.
I thought that Diebold's positioning was great and he seemed very calm and confident in his first game.
Think I'm gonna like this team. :)

UND was one of the founding members of the NCHC.

And you may have meant moot point.

Thanks RC...but I did mean mute.....as in no sound......and no sound means no one hears, and if no one hears, there is no action or reaction. I think that's what I meant!:) Thanks for the backcheck though.

You and i would like just about any RPI team-even when things are not going well. i think we both are going to love this team. And next year's team-and so on. Things are looking up in Troy.

Of course, you are correct.
Did you see the defense last night. Very impressive and big. I like that too.

Great game last night. I like how we were actually handling the puck and passing it well, something we seemed to struggle with towards the end of last season. However, there were a few moments in the game where I got nervous because we still seem to be holding onto the puck too long when we get posession.
We actually capitalized on power plays, our defense was top-notch and Diebold did a pretty good job for his first game. Questionable team we played against, but regardless of who you're playing, a 7-0 win in hockey is a slaughtering. I think this is going to be an interesting season.

We tried to tell all those north grandstander's that we had it goin on in Sec.9 !!!....Lets see what Acadia does @ Qpac tonite...My gut feeeling is that what f12 says has some creedence but I also think that we may have made them look a little worse than they actually were. They had trouble dealing with our speed and quickness...this is one fast team top to bottom....but if f12 is correct thats even better news...because what that says is we played a team that we should skate out of the rink and we did just that...when's the last time that happened !!!!

If you either went to RPI or spent a good deal of time in the Troy area, you have every right to use the term "we". ;)

I agree as far as posters are concerned, but I think that the WRPI announcers are correct in not saying "we" whether ot not they actually have a routing interest.

No news is good news? No mention of Haggerty's injury. He was really struggling to get off the ice...went into the locker-room & never returned to the bench. Anyone stick around for the, "skate with the Engineers"? Was he seen then? Not that he would be skating then but maybe in the stands. Babo did throw the puck back onto the ice. Said she did what Moms always do at their kid's games.....but now she knows. Sorry Babo, something came up & I couldn't make it to the Rec. Rm.
